Well I just got myself a free Thinkpad tablet.

Unfortunately, it can't be rooted and is slam packed with bloatware.

Still, Not going to complain about a free tablet.

The network here in Long Beach was down for most of the day, but it looks like they just fixed it.

OK, it's another "which phone should I get" post...

My discount period with Verizon is up, and I can get the following phones, each for $0.01 on amazon. I've had an OG Droid for the last couple of years, which has been good, but is showing its age. I've put several different ROMs on it, and would like to continue to be able to root and rom my new phone (including being able to use wi-fi tethering), so that's a consideration.

- HTC Incredible 2
- HTC Thunderbolt
- LG Revolution
- Moto Droid X2
- Samsung Charge

Have at it...

I like my Thunderbolt, but from that list I'd choose the Charge.

How did he get it, and why are people pissed that he did?

p3droid is pretty universally hated. He kept flaunting it and apparently some people got in trouble because he wasn't supposed to have it. Not sure what the whole story is but he's now trying to "disappear".

Between the two, Nook or Fire?

Thinking Fire because of Amazon's everything despite supposedly better specs of the Nook.

Nook. The Fire doesn't have physical volume controls, lacks an SD card slot (and has very limited internal storage), and has half the ram. 512 just doesn't cut it these days.

He's single handedly spread fear mongering and misinformation thru the entire android community. He also continues to support and recommend Motorola products despite the locked to **** bootloaders.

But if you want to root the Nook's boot loader cannot be rooted so it is a tethered root. Fire is the choice if you want to hack the tablet.

In the market it looks like the old ones are still $0.10, they just aren't on the featured list.

This... and remember- FREEZE them, don't delete them (unless you are absolutely positively 10000% sure that deleting them won't eff up something else down the line that you thought was completely unrelated)

ask me how I know
