OMGHi2U Where in SLC to get a Protune

I'll be back in SLC for good with my wagon in a few weeks and was wondering where to get a protune. Also where is a good shop in the Layton area to get an O2 bung welded in my DP.

Thanks

Anyone know what kind of gains can be expected from a base AP 2.5 map to a protune VF34 w/7v STi TMIC. I know every car is different but what is the average for the SLC area?

Isn't Cobb the only one in the state with a AWD dyno?

No, who are they?

I knew for some time that Cobb had Modern do all thier tunes. I was unaware that Cobb was back into protuning.

Thanks for the awesome help!

Uh Modern didn't do the tuning, Cobbs Dyno was in there facility and no longer is and Christian does all of Cobbs Tuning. They have a great new facility now that is large. Go to their site and check it out.

yes it was .. They posted in this fourm that they *cobb* bought it from modern.

This is from http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ight=Dyno+Cobb
Sorry to say this. but the DYNO day is OFF!!!
MG no longer has there dyno, and Cobb's dyno isnt set up yet.
I appologize(sp?) for that. I went in to MG yesturday to get info on it and was informed about the situation
Now this could mean that MG sold them the Dyno or They went and bought another one and MG sold theirs somewhere eles.. But I read into it that Cobb bought the one from MG.

Ok, Cobb brought the Dyno from Texas when they moved up here. There was some biz going down with Cobb and MG, but that's obviously over with. Cobb has a dyno, and MG doesn't. It doesn't take a lot to figure this out.

well this is also what was posted..
You don't call Cobb for the dyno, either. It's done through Modern Garage (they're next door). I was quoted $120 per hour, so I was about ready to go tune, then I realized my car is slow, and won't make much power without boost.

Is where I found that thread. Yes I know that the partnership between the two is not as tight as it was. I also know that they have always been separate company's.

Not that it really matters at all but rumors are annoying so...

- I purchased the dyno in May'01 while in Texas.
- Moved the dyno to Utah Sept'02, shared use and expenses with MG.
- Bought second dyno from FIS in Texas Sept'05 with plans of opening a second location in Texas.
- Moved to new shop Oct'05. Temporarily left 1st dyno at MG location for set period of time per business agreements.
- Nov'05 Texas shop plans aren't looking ideal for current needs, move 2nd dyno to Utah.
- Installed 2nd dyno from FIS into new Shop and built new room ~March'06
- Purchased the remaining "equity" MG had put into dyno since moving it to Utah. Once more fully own 1st dyno and moved it to COBB Garages at Miller Motorsport Park April'06.
- Finally will have "original" dyno back up and running at MMP by the end of this week (yah!)

To recap, Chassis Dyno 1 = MMP, Chassis Dyno 2 = COBB HQ. Both are exact same models with identical everything, Mustang AWD. We also have 20+ specially calibrated Butt Dynos on staff if anyone cares.

Christian is our lead tuner now, and does an absolutely awesome job. So you'll be in good hands with him tuning your car, regardless of where, who, what about the dyno(s). :P

^^^ Thank you for clearing that up. So I was Wrong and I was Right. You owned the first one, and paid back MG the equity they put into it. Got it.
