Anyone in Burnaby interested in taking a peek at a car for me?
Hi guys,
So I'm in the market for a new ride, and there's one I'm interested in at a place called Miracle Auto sales in Burnaby. It's a 92 Toyota Celica Alltrac (white) that I found while searching on Canadatrader.com. If anyone happens to be in the area one day, would you be interested in going and kicking the tires for me? (I'm kind of out of town... way out of town actually!) Don't bother talking to the salesman or anything, just a quick look for dents, rust, and whatever the mileage is if you can see. I noticed they have an NSX and a nice black Supra for sale too if anyone's looking. And that's it! Thanks scooby pals! Hope to hear from you here!

I would suggest you look elsewhere. Miracle Auto has a pretty bad reputation for selling crappy cars.
I think on a CBC news coverage awhile back on shady kingsway dealerships, they discovered a low mileage toyota camry that was previously a taxi cab with over 200 000km's. Supposedly vancouver has the highest fraudelant car dealership in Canada. Last edited by Chizzow; 06-06-2006 at 08:58 PM. |

here is the scoop on Miracle:
Some awesome deals, some cool cars, sales people that outright lie, some of the cars have major issues, alot of the cars are from the US, and some cars have rebiult status. Having said that, there are a few people that have had great experiences with them, but i would say more that havent. So what i am saying is its cool to have somoene check it out, but dont bother with buying from them unless you are able to come down here and analyze the car with a fine tooth comb. |

that place is 5 minutes from my house, they're constantly getting new crap in/out of there, I've been in there twice and both times the sales people have straight up lied to me about the car's history/value (sometimes you can just tell a car has been in an accident...)

Miracle is funny, one time I went to look at a non-turbo Rx7. It had one of those ricer aftermarket breathers and the salesguy points to it and says "blow-off valves" . I didn't even know how to respond it was so funny.

yep! i would try to look else where... but then again.. some of my friends have told me that many used car dealerships will change your mileage to what ever you like for like 200bucks or something... where they got this info i do not know.. but seems like there is a lot of negative feedback on used car dealerships.

Besides authorized new car dealers, are there ANY used car dealers that are any good to deal with? From what I have heard, I found none, and yet they are the ones that have the popular cars - MR2, FDs, FCs, NSX, Supra, M3s, you name it. Is this the nature of the business that promotes fraud? And what's the deal with someone like 888 who got their license revoked and widely reports on the news paper and yet they are still putting up ads? My conclusion is that if you buy used, you either buy from an authorized new car dealership or buy private, unless of course you happens to be a detective and don't mind going thru all the dirty work inspecting the car yourself.

Ohhh.. so it's one of those places...
Hrmm.. oh well easy come easy go I guess. Come to think of it, as was noted above, most of those cars have been for sale on Canadatrader there for quite some time. Should have been my first subtle warning I guess! Anyways, coming out for a visit pretty quick, maybe I'll check the place out just for a laugh or two. Kind of feel sorry for the Subaru's they have for sale though. Thanks much for the replies however!! |

Coming all the way from Yellowknife eh? Hey, do you have one of those polar bear licence plates on your Subie? Always wanted one of those.

i almost bought an RS from miracle auto
good thing i had it inspected first... i'd say its a crap shoot. if you're really interested in the car (which i saw there, months ago btw) i'd suggest getting it inspected by BCAA. well worth the $150 IMO |

If I ever do any kind of dealing, I take my own trusted mechanic - but bottom line is that the odds are against me in not getting scammed

1) They know there is a demand for these cars
2) They intend to make a killing 3) They will do whatever it takes to make you willingly pay more than you should Isn't that the typical used car dealership model? |
