Default should i go see a dr.?

This afternoon it was the first time i saw my brother in a few days and i was talking to him and then we started arguing about something really stupid, a PS2 game, that he thought i had, GTA Vice City.

Well I was trying to walk about because he has a bit of a temper, then the next thing i know he pushes me, i tell him to leave me alone and grow up. He then tries to punch, i blocked and tried to pull his arm around him to put him an arm lock to stop this fulishness. Well he slips turns around and them bam hits me in the eye. I just backed off at that point because my contact fell out and just walked into the bathroom to find in my eye somewhere. Well when i looked in the mirror I saw what my eye looked like.

Now I have to go to work at 6pm. My health insurance provider is right up the road, should I go see a doctor, are they going to be able to do much about this? or just say come back tomorrow and we'll see what it looks like.

That's nasty.

Any eye violence requires medical attention in my opinion as a frontline medical dude. It's your eye, what you see with, don't mess with that crap...

And don't forget to milk that crap with your brother.

Really though, go see a doc.

It's a subconjunctival hemorrhage. In and of itself it is harmless. It'll change colors over the next week or two and eventually go away.

1. Is your vision normal?

2. Do you have any double vision? Especially looking up, down or to the side.

3. Pain in or around the eye?

My only concern is that you may have an orbital fracture. But even with a small fracture, if your vision is OK, your pupil is functioning normally and the eye moves normally, I would observe it.

It would probably be a good idea to get a good eye exam. Blunt trauma to the eye can cause small retinal tears, or even damage that can lead to glaucoma.

Why? In that story above, I guarantee that the surgery actually had nothing to do with the contact lens. If it folds up down in the conjunctival fornix you can just pluck it out.

Heh, you'd be really surprised what this "little car forum" knows. Remember, before the 00-01's hit the showroom floors, pretty much every Suby nut out there was a complete geek (and I mean this in a good way).
