Sold the WRX STI Launch. :-(
So, I sold the 2015 Launch Edition.
I have to say its changed my outlook on Subaru, being the first Subaru that I've ever owned. I sold the Subaru @ 2971 miles. The only thing that I saw with it was the lack of power. I just needed more .... umph.... I got the vehicle from Subaru of Tacoma. I could not be happier with those guys down there at all.. Very knowledgeable and everything. I went with a new 2014 Nissan GTR Black Edition. Initial impressions are absolutely outstanding. It's got power and pull for days. Launch and the GTR. Carbon Fiber rear wing I appreciate you guys having me, and hope to see you guys on the track, I will stop by from time to time if you guys allow me. My Subaru will always have a spot in my heart. Michael

How can such a nice car come with such crappy looking wheels? My only gripe, not that it matters. Nice upgrade.
Was that STi automatic? |

I have to agree... I like the premium edition wheels better, but I got one awesome deal on this, and it has additional brake cooling and such.
It was a 6 speed. This is a bit interesting to drive, because its not an automatic transmission, its an automatic .... manual.... transmission. It accelerates like nothing I've ever been in before which is simply amazing. It's almost like a rocket ship. |

it's not every day that you see someone buy a car, then be like ehhh wasn't what I had hoped for .. then go buy a car that costs nearly 3x as much
awesome upgrade. enjoy it! I'm sort of in the same camp.. the sti just isn't exciting enough for me, and it will take a huge investment to build it's power level up. unfortunately my budget is not 3x what my current car costs.. so I am looked at used c6 vettes! It's really an apples and oranges sort of thing... I like the Subaru, but i LOVE the GTR... haha. I paid 42k for the Launch. I walked out @ 102k for the GTR with extended warranty and stuff.
I went from people throwing up the deuce, to people taking pictures and videos of my car... So a bit interesting. |

Cool car! Still think the subie looks better. Really not in the same league prestige/performance.

Wow. Not sure why you ever went with the Subaru in the first place when you can afford a $100k car but...congrats either way. Imagine the car you could've had if you spent $50k in mods in the Subaru

I had a couple of requirements.... AWD, Turbo.
I am a bit odd, if you haven't noticed. I like to try different things, and learn about them. So this was one of the learning experiences. I wanted to check out Subaru, and because I did I learned a lot, and now look at subaru a lot differently than I use too. Subaru makes a GREAT vehicle. I am not trying to compare the cars. Comparing is like comparing apples and oranges, they just don't compare. Subaru has a lot of great benefits, while this has a lot of great benefits. I more than likely wouldn't take this out to a bunch of dirt roads or anything... hehe :-) |

So what you're saying is, you should have kept both, and turned the STI into your weekend rally monster.
Also, I'd be curious what your thoughts would have been of the STI if you had chosen to modify it with a nice Stage II setup (turboback, intake, headers, etc.). If it's anything like the STI's of old (which it is, being it's just a revised EJ257), the extra 50ish HP and 60-70 TQ gained might have been enough to bridge the gap. Just a thought. Still, nice car regardless. One day I hope to get a GTR. One day... |

Wow
Agreed with what someone stated above. That is a beautiful car, but not even in the same country as your STI. I just purchased my 2nd Subaru but first WRX and am loving it. Just looking for some fellow Subaru owners that want to enjoy beautiful Oregon.

That being said. I absolutely regret trading it in for my LGT. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my GT wagon . . . talk about absolute invisibility to law enforcement. It's rare being a 5MT and the color combination, but I still long for the STi more than I care to admit. Enjoy the novelty while it lasts. . . . weather the **** when it happens (and it will) . . . . and remind yourself as much as possible why you purchased the car. If you love it that much, never part ways with it. And yes. . . . a little jelly, here. |

Just out of curiosity how much did you get for your sti? How long did it take you to sell it?

IIRC I got 40k for it. So I took about a 2k hit on it. I just traded it into Nissan. They basically took 40k off of the sale price which saved me quite a bit in taxes.
