![]() Since all of the transmission woes are behind me, I had R/T reinstall the Kartboy short shifter. This time around, I decided to leave out the Turn in Concepts bushings and the Kartboy rear shifter stay bushing to eliminate as much transmission noise as possible. I'm down with exhaust and intake noise, but not trans noise.
I kept the Perrin Reverse Lockout as I've been pretty happy with that piece. And I kept the Kartboy front shifter stay bushings. I'm very happy with the result. There is a small increase in trans noise during deceleration over stock. But if I'm on the throttle, no noise is transmitted. I would say it's a 10% increase in transmission noise and zero rattle. Far better than the trans noise with all the bushings from the Holy Shift Set For those of you who might have missed it, I was battling a pretty bad shifter rattle prior to reverting back to the stock shifter. But that possibly could've been related to the bad synchro. So, no more rattle. Kartboy short shifter back in. My god it's so much of a shorter throw over stock. Short shifts and long gears ftw. Next few visits to R/T will be for the wife's S3. But in the meantime, I'll be sending my Tomei Expreme UEL Headers and the hotside of the EFR turbo exhaust housing off to Swain Tech for coating. The rotated piping will get the same treatment when they arrive. Last up for the interior is to install the Billetworkz HVAC dials and to mount the AccessPORT in its final resting spot. Spoke with Lancaster about his new Dialed Defroster Vent Mount. Looks like the cleanest mounting option and i still get to keep my Akron Seat Rail Phone Holder Mount for my phone. Pics coming soon.

![]() I am not too sure if this has been asked. I really dig your phone mount setup and I wanted something similar to yours since I have android auto and I do not need to pay attention to the screen. Would you mind sharing (maybe with a link) of which phone mount you are using please?

![]() Little update:
Got this in the mail the other month. Finally getting it taken care of. ![]() ![]() Dropped my car off at the Subaru dealership this morning. Check that off the list. A couple more little things. Hoping to get the HVAC dials installed tomorrow. Fingers crossed the rain drops the temps down a bit. Last edited by QwaktastiK; 07-10-2019 at 02:40 PM. |

![]() Will you update this when you get the car back from the dealer? My sti goes in Saturday morning for the same recall. I'm having them take care of the rear brake light recall that just came out last month. I'm real nervous about them removing and reinstalling the dash correct. I've read a lot of stories.

I am not happy with the repair to the windshield washer reservoir however. So a few months ago I popped my hood and the neck of the windshield washer reservoir was disconnected from the short section that has the cap on it where you fill the fluid. And the whole reservoir was sitting at the bottom of my engine bay. Turned out, a bolt holding the reservoir in place broke, had to be extracted and replaced. That repair was like $150 or so. This "repair" today was $185. They ziptied the long neck to the short refill section. Really? That's your fix? Bruh. I don't mind spending money to do something right. If it needs replacing, effing replace it. Anywho, I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow and tell them I'm not happy with the fix and I want it replaced. It's so ghetto looking. I'll try and grab a pic when it stops raining. I just installed them. It's pouring right now so the pics kinda suck, but I'm happy with how they turned out. Not the easiest of installs, trying to separate the old knobs apart, but I got it done without breaking any of the plastic tabs. Here's two pics of the finished product: ![]() ![]() Now no more silver trim in the interior. Woohoo! ![]() |

![]() I need more non-silver in my life. Do you have a link to those knobs? I don’t see them referenced on page 1. Also what did you do for the head unit/vent trim?
Love that interior! |

![]() Well that's about what I'm expecting back, maybe I'll be surprised. Hopefully you can straighten it all up. As far as the washer filler, that's rediculous! $185 for some ghetto zip ties? I plan to walk around the car with the service advisor so we both see that there are zero issues going into it. I hate to be that guy but I will be!!

![]() Those dials look hawt.
Just bought new dash and shifter trim to replace my scratched up ones, but I’m definitely waiting until after the recall is done to swap them in. |

![]() Your interior is dialed. Looks perfect.
Also, I have a weird question that I can't find the answer to: does the STI emblem on your shifter console light up? Mine does not and I have seen some photos where it appeared to be lit, but I can't find any info on the topic. Last edited by BRGT; 07-12-2019 at 03:06 PM. |

![]() Yes, the STI shifter surround illuminates when you turn the lights on. Perhaps yours is just unplugged? Quote:
Nice! They do look super clean especially with how they match the Perrin Si-Drive Cover and the Perrin Reverse Lockout. |
