Dear Accord driver, the speed limit on Rt114 in Danvers is 40mph. I pulled out of Starbucks, because I like my $3 dollar coffee in the morning. I happen to be out, giving the Rally Mirage some exercise on my way to work. As the other car in the lane next to me matched my 40mph speed you took it upon yourself to tailgate me just inches off my bumper after flying up on me at about 65. So was it really a surprise when I slowed down suddenly? And the best part was you pulled in to the center lane to pass me, How does it feel to not be able to pass the Rally Mirage with its 1.8l of fury? When you finally did get buy, after I let off at 50 was it necessary to floor it and do 70 mph down Rt114? They have been running radar the last couple weeks unfortunately not that morning.

Dear Very Attentive People in a Jeep Cherokee,

One ways, do, in fact mean ONE WAY. It is not code, nor a poor translation of anything, it really does mean traffic (that includes you...) has to go in one direction for the system to work.

Unfortunately for me, that direction was NOT the way you were traveling. So, when I stop my Legacy, nose to nose with your well crafted piece of Chrysler ingenuity, don't throw your hands up in complete disgust, I am fully aware that your out of state plate means that such a law has no effect or meaning to you and that right or wrong, I must obey you. Alas, there is no need to tell me I am #1 after I start by twirling my finger in the air and pointing in the way I am traveling, then point out the simple, reflective, easy to read aluminum black and white sign pointing in such a way mimicking my hand motion.

So please, this rotary doesn't tell time, therefore there is no reason that you should think it would work better going clockwise.

Sincerely,

Town resident for the past 24 years of my 24 year old life,

Rob

Dear rt9 drivers....

When merging on to route 9, at the natick mall merge, it is clearly evident that the traffic engineers predicted that a mall would cause traffic. So, the genius' that they are, they made it so merging traffic has its OWN lane to merge into.

Please, and i ask nicely, please do NOT slam on your brakes in the middle of a highway with your blinker on...and then proceed to go STRAIGHT into the lane you were ALREADY in. It confuses the crap out of everyone and causes a chain reaction of idiots slamming on their brakes while looking over their left shoulder to merge onto a lane that no traffic has access to except for you!

Dear redneck ****ass driving the beat-up, rusty, POS, Ford F-150 with the 'RDNKTRK' plates.

Although you must assume that I enjoy swerving at 70mph with my 'jap car' to miss one of your empty frier oil containers that came out from underneath your empty case of Hamm's, your porn mags, and your old oil filters, I really do not like doing so when..

A. Its 0730 and I'm tired.
B. I already want to kill you because you are doing 69 in a 70 in the passing lane.
C. I have already been through the process of determining if I can mount a Mark 19 to the roof of my car.
D. My wifes pregnant and I haven't been laid in awhile.

Please take this into consideration next time you throw a beer can in the truck bed while your are driving to your court appointment for spousal abuse.

Dear convertible Mustang full of blow-out, flip-collar, gold necklace guys and one cute seemingly out of place girl,

When I'm on my bike on Memorial and stop next to you at a red light, please don't ask if I "Do wheelies and $#!7" or rev your engine like you want to race. As the light turns green and I drive forward at "law obiding citizen speeds", don't pull up next to me and rev your engine... Because I'll rev right back and make you deaf, then cruise off down Memorial.

Sincerely,
My exhaust is louder than yours

Dear loudmouth outside the bookstore,

I was trying my hardest to read my magazine, drink my cappuccino, and enjoy the sunset, however your ignorance distracted me so much I can't remember what I was reading about. It was okay when you rolled up with your ford probe, it was even okay that you were trying hard to hang with those 300z owners. But when you started dropping your knowledge of rear wheel drive conversion, hundreds of horsepower, and a probe that could take on a twin turbo z I began to feel the discomfort in my stomach usually associated with having not used a restroom in a couple of days. When the z owner peeled out across the parking lot and you said he was trying to "make up for his crappy car" I felt that I should say something, but I did not. I just sat and listened, as you blared on about how no v6 could ever touch your Datsun's almighty inline 6.
I thank you for ruining my time, and making me think of some of the great cars that now feature v6's. Cars like the 350z, Ah, the 350, I am glad my mind wanders so easily, otherwise I may have heard you say something that would incline me to speak. But I didn't.

You, sir, are an idiot. You should research some, drive some, and try listening. If you have such an awesome datsun, why do you drive a probe? I hope I do not ever encounter you again.

Dear asshat in the red pos soccer vehicle,

While I was driving my old 96 mustang gt to work one morning I saw you and a line of cars in the lane next to me and I of course had to go into the lane next to you. So I did as any normal person would and accelerated passed you so I can get into the exit lane, while doing so i had my turn signal on the entire time. Much to my dismay another mustang gt owner was next to me and was thinking I was racing him so even though he blared passed me going 90+ and I went over two lanes into the exit lane... does not give you the right to bitch at me about street racers and how I kill people by street racing when I was doing nothing of the sort.

Thanks for the ignorance soccer mom asshat

Dear black birdie,

I'm sorry you decided to commit suicide on my car by plunging down and boucing off my roof while shedding a few feathers while i was minding my own business on an empty freeway.

I'm sure it's easy to sit in your car and just hit the lights when someone doe'snt count to 5 at the stop before going, but your time would be better served if you stopped people who were running red lights at 40 mph, but that'd require actually chasing the offender down. I'm just pissed 'cuz 90% of the intersections i'm at these days someone runs a red with out fail, and like blatent full speed stuff, not the oop's it just turned red running.

(For the forums info, I was stopped for not "stopping long enough" but was "politely" warned as the cop saw the logic that i arrived at said stop with a car in front of me so i actually had stopped, and that the other direction was clear for about a 1/4 mile.)

I cant stand Longmeadow Cops..

Dear actual Neon driver,

Did you really need that wing on the back of your car to be as high as the roofline of your car? Did you feel that driving at 30 mph on Storrow Drive was a good idea? Is it really even all that comfortable to be driving with your seat leaned all the way back? When I finally did get an open spot to pass you (at normal speed), why, in the name of all that is good in this world, did you not only rev your engine, but accelerate in an attempt to box me in?

Sincerely,
Confused in Watertown.

Dear VR6 GTI Driver,

You do not need to glance at me in your rear view mirror and turn around every few seconds while im behind you at a red light. Unfortunately, multitasking while hopped on cocaine is harder then you remember, so forgetting to rev your engine before dumping the clutch does make you stall, and therefore not succeed at impressing me at all. Yes, you and your "gansta" off center hat, are destined for success. And no, i was not trying to race you when i stayed on your tail as you were accelerating after. I just wanted to get out of that intersection.

ditch the hat,
REM
