Cool Kryptonite for you eManage haters ;) Ultimate eManage

well here it is....
http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/tmp...age/index.html

i'm the only emanage user on a 05 STi that I know of....well not only that...i havn't had any problems with it whatsoever....any case...I am planning to jump ships to UTEC or Hydra when I upgrade my turbo and injectos...only because of ease of use and amount of support i can get from other UTEC users... and knock control!!!

but i think people knock eManage more than it deserves...and i think its been blamed for blown engins in more cases where there were many other factors beside the emanage that contributed to the failure...bottom line...its a piggy back...and it has the piggy back flaws just like all piggy backs.... i think overall its an OK tunning tool for moderate tunning/modification...

but this new eManage seems pretty promising....it looks like its got MAP input and wideband O2 input...and it should retail for about 800...I know Greddy has some sort of knock input as well even for the blue eManage....all this combined MAY be a another good option for our car....

let me ask you a question....lets say you have a stock car...you put on the emanage and leave all the tables "0" (i.e. ECU)....will that make your engin blow up?! come on man!!!

Could you maybe make the picture a little smaller? I don't have 100 inch monitor to look at that on. The whole thing is that there has to be good map support for it, and someone who specializes in tuning with this product, for it to be worthwhile over a UTEC, Hydra, or ECUTEK. I would rather spend more on the proven engine management, that is specially made for our make of car or 1 or 2 other makes of car, than one that is for every tom, dick and harry sport compact, and has no good starter maps, or sizeable map database on a website somewhere. I think spending more on the initial investment of a ECU upgrade will save money down the road. I will not make a definitive statement of how it will save money, but if I did, it is a statement of assumption and speculation...

have you heard of AEM?! thank you very much...
chill out...i said i'm probably getting a UTEC or Hydra!
you all doggin something that is not even out yet?!!! it won't but what if it was a plug and play for USDM STi with good support and base maps?! no piggy back has wideband tunning capability (except Hydra which is a standalone) and this thing may....

continue....

Can you please make sense of what this post is? I just got confused by reading it. So what are you for AEM or UTEC? Or are you for E-Manage? If it had good maps and base support people would probably use it more, and if it were more exclusive to Subaru, we would use it more. I don't go out and buy hondata to put in a Subaru. I know I know it isn't that bad, but it seems that greddy stuff is oriented more towards "other" makes of cars. I only own a Greddy catch can. That is all I will buy. That is just an opinion for those who are big Greddy fans. I just think there is better stuff out there...

i dont know if the new emanage fixes this issue, but the old emanage didnt have proper timing control. all it allowed was for you to subtract timing off the stock ignition curve. ...and with the wildly varying stock ignition curve, thats not an easy thing to predict to make the proper tune that wont run too much timing and det your engine to death. otherwise, you would try to subtract a small amount to get a good tune, and then one day your stock ecu decides to add a little bit more timing and then boom. have fun with it. im not trying to diss you...just trying to save you from having to spend an additional 3000 for a new block.

$600 emanage + $3000 block vs. $1000 utec.

The real problem with all versions of e-manage for subarus is the CPU speed, the e-manage simply cannot keep up with the subaru ecu. Short of that it's a great piggy-back; Subaru has just been ahead of the ecu curve in the power of it's computer.

Question emanage wideband 02 w. profec e-01

Alright first question .... keyser_soze mentioned that the new E-manage that is debuting for 05 will have support for wideband O2 sensor. Now I am considering the E-manage and am considering getting the Greddy Profec E-01 also .. can someone else confirm that this will have support for a Wideband O2 sensor my research is showing me it will. So is there any other added benefits this unreleased E-manage will do over the current E-manage / profec E-01 combo (controller, datalogger)

Second my question is about the timing... if I did get the E-01 and it hook up a O2 sensor to it.. will it adjust the timing if the sensor picks up certain readings that surpass set thresholds and coordinate with the emanage to adjust timing?

Please all e-manage enthusiasts and/or experts reply.

Also would a UTEC even work on a EJ18 block?
