I'm interested in seeing your results/idea. I believe you'll have to stick em in the oven to soften to adhesive to pull the headlight apart. Hope this helps: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...t+06+headlight

thats more of a dual painting process.

This is how i've done it on my personal setup:

1. take everything apart per POST #2 instructions
2. paint the red on there without using any tape
3. let it fully cure overnight and possibly the next
4. tape a "ring" around the red area (or whatever color you decided)
5. finish painting everything else with a black color of your choice
6. Reverse the "taking it apart" steps and you should be done

Now this isn't the full blown instructions, but its a good brief summary. Hope that helps!

There's a long thread with step by step instruction and pictures.
Me and about 4 others got together once and did it all together using that thread as our guidelines.

And yes, you will need to stick your headlight in the oven.

So this might not be the greatest place to post this, plus I am reviving an old thread but the almighty search method got me here. I wanted to gather some opinions from some Subaru veterans about my head light idea.

I have a 07 SWPM and instead of buying the sweet jdm headlights I want to take mine apart and paint them the oem white. (I have access to a paint booth / tools / material etc). So I know I can do a good job but I am just hesitant to do it because I have never seen it before and I don't want to look like steamed rice either!

If anyone wants to get down on some photoshop feel free!
