Default Clunk while turning right and accelerating

I'm experiencing a soft clunk only while turning right and accelerating. For example, doing a normal right turn after stopping/slowing at a stop sign. The sound seems to come from the right-rear corner of the car. I've checked under the vehicle with a flashlight -nothing dangling and all things in the car are stowed away securely.

Anyone know what this might be?

Thanks,
Dave

It was a bad passenger-side front axle. Went to Metric Subaru and got it replaced. Seems straightforward. Thanks for all who viewed and didn't say anything =P

hey to ask how much was the repair? I've just started to have the same problem with my 04 the last few days but being Xmas I haven't been to the dealership yet since they were closed.

^ It was $196 for the axle, plus 190 for (2 hours) labor. Kinda put a crimp in my Christmas shopping =T

At first I thought it was a bad CV joint, but I checked all the boots and they were fine. I was able to duplicate the thunk-thunk-thunk sound for the technician after 3 minutes of driving around and making some right turns.

Good luck =)

To get back to this the shop said it was my right front axle too quoted me ~550 for the part + labor.
