Official HPDE & Lap Battle Dissuasion
As the NASA Regional Director and Co-founder of the Lap Battle Time Attack Series I wanted to start an official discussion about the NASA Utah HPDE Program and Lap Battle Time Attack events.
Run Group Explanation: HPDE(High Performance Driving Events) Group One (HPDE-1) This is where you begin. This is one on one guidance from experienced racers, as you learn to control your car and yourself. Your mentor will provide you with guidance as you learn to drive at the limit. You will address how to approach a turn, the fast way around it, what gear should you be in, how to brake, and how to exit. The session generally includes a lead-follow session. Passing is very limited in the Group 1 Sessions. Group Two (HPDE-2) Your instructor has determined you can drive on your own and with less supervision. You apply what you learned in the Group 1 sessions to get more practice. Group 2 is often mixed with Group 1 and is for those drivers that want some more Group 1 seat-time, but do not need an instructor. Group Three (HPDE-3) You have progressed to the world of high performance driving. The passing rules in group 3 are not as strict. You must learn to share the track at high speeds with others. Group Four (HPDE-4) Congratulations! You have made it, no passing restriction except those of good judgment and rules of the road etiquette. You and your peers are now experiencing the joys of doing it right in a relatively safe and controlled environment! You can now enjoy high performance driving at its finest. Those that wish to can petition to apply for a competition license. NASA Time Trial NASA Time Trial/Time Attack utilizes a car classification system that is easy to understand, and gives HPDE-4 drivers a taste of competition by allowing them to compete for top lap times, in advanced, open passing run sessions, against similarly prepared cars for awards, prizes, and recognition. In total, there are nine Time Trial classes. Awards are provided to our top-level finishers at each of the regional events. To compete in NASA TT, a driver must obtain a NASA National TT License, which requires the driver to be an advanced level driver or racer. Driver and vehicle safety are among our top concerns, and we have a pro-active safety program. HPDE Passport and Time Trial License: Upon completion of your first HPDE event, you will receive an HPDE Passport. The Passport is a small paper logbook used to track your progression as a driver. Your instructors will evaluate your performance and will complete evaluations in your passport allowing you to move to the next higher HPDE group. Once you have reached and become comfortable in HPDE 4, you can apply for your NASA Time Trial License. If you pass your TT evaluation you will then be allowed to compete in Time Trial/Time Attack events. HPDE & Time Attack Event Tech Inspections: HPDE & Time Attack Tech Inspections are required for all HPDE and Lap Battle cars and must be done for each event. The tech inspection includes the car and driver equipment (e.g. Helmet). NASA Utah is currently setting up a network of local shops that are certified to do the NASA Annual Tech Inspections. If you can't get you car teched before an event, a NASA official can do an HPDE Inspections for $40 at any event. Click here for a list of HPDE Tech Inspection Facilities. Lap Battle Time Attack Series presented by Rally Sport Direct: The Lap Battle Time Attack Series was started in 2008 to fill the need for a competitive alternative to open track days. The series only runs at MMP and is host to a wide verity of cars at various levels of race preparation. Currently, Lap Battle utilized the Global Time Attack rule set. In December of 2011 Lap Battle was combined with NASA HPDE to help drivers transition to the NASA HPDE program. Prior to that, Lap Battle was unable to provide instruction or fully accommodate new drivers. With the creation of the new NASA Utah region that all changed. Now, new drivers must progress through the HPDE program before they can participate in a Lap Battle event. This is done to promote safety and competition. From now until July, Lap Battle will be run as/with HPDE 3. All drivers will need to have an HPDE 3 Passport to enter Lap Battle Time Attack events. In August, Lap Battle will move to HPDE 4. All drivers will need to have an HPDE 4 Passport to enter Lap Battle Time Attack events. And finally, in 2013 Lap Battle will require a NASA Time Trial License. Rally Sport Direct is the official sponsor of Lap Battle Time Attack Series. They are providing prizes for the top Lap Battle finishers. At the end of each event, the fastest lap time in Limited and in Unlimited will both receive a FREE entry into the next Lap Battle from Rally Sport Direct. And at the end of the season, the top points finisher in Street will receive $100 in Rally Sport Direct store credit. First place in Limited will receive $150 in store credit. And the top Unlimited Class finisher will receive $250 in store credit as well as an entry into the Global Time Attack Finale! 2012 Event Schedule: April 20-22 East Track May 11-13 West Track June 29-July 1 East Track July 27-29 Full Track August 17-19 West Track September 14-16 East Track October 5-7 West Track October 26-27 Outer Track NASA HPDE & Lap Battle Event Explanation: Fridays are Open Track days, HPDE 2+ on Fridays is for HPDE 2 through 4 drivers wanting extra track time. You need to be HPDE 2 or high to participate. Saturdays and Sundays are HPDE 1, 2 and 3(a.k.a. Lap Battle on Saturdays). For even more information, please visit NASAUtah.com

I can find the results of all the races at MMP on MyLaps but not any results for LapBattle. Am I missing something or can we get these posted up?
