Default 2015 WRX how to program new key

I'm trying to program a new key for my 2015 WRX. I've tried to get it into program mode by inserting the key and following the instructions for adding a new key I found for older models on the forums.

My new key is correctly chipped with the same model chip and I have the 8 digit code.

Any ideas? When I go from Lock to On and cycle the key 10 times am I using the new key or the original already programmed to the car?

You can't program a key. You can only program a remote. The keys (immobilizer) have to be done with the computer, and the code isn't 8 digits....it's usually 5. You might get lucky and find a locksmith, but there is a post on here about someone who did that and it went horribly wrong. I would take it to the dealer and have it programmed.
