Default USF area: can somebody get me an entry level computer job?

I am SO sick of working in retail. I don't want to stock shelves, I don't want to help customers and I don't want to get paid like a high schooler.
I'm going to Tampa Tech right now, for a CIS degree. I would like to have a computer related job to go along with my computer education. I'm looking for something basic, like data entry or proofreading or anything. I could probably troubleshoot HTML as I have some prior knowledge of it. At school, I sit in front of a computer for 5 hours and type. I have no problem doing menial computer tasks.
If anybody knows where I could find a job (32+ hours per week, plus health benefits), please tell me/hire me.

This thread will not die until I have a job.

Eh, I don't know about contract work, I need a stable full time job, not something that will run out after a few months.

Trying looking for jobs/contacts in Tampa from CGS (Computer Generated Solutions). They offer entry level techical jobs w/ stuff like helpdesks and pay should be reasonable if you are comming from retail. They used to have a nice facility right next to the Stadium in the IBM park. It's not the best job in the world, but if you take advantage of it it's a potential stepping stone and just about anything will beat retail.

good luck.

CGS, eh? Alright sounds good, thanks a lot. You wouldn't happen to have any contact information for them, would you? If not I can probably find them.
Yeah living on $7.50/hour is not good. Retail is the lowest level of hell. A trained chimp could do my job.

Thumbs down

Uh oh.....you're going to Tampa Tech. When I attended TTI, their eduaction practices were questionable. If you're going to transfer your credits to continue your education, you will have to some problems with that. PLUS, they're under federal investigation. I was happy to get out of there. Good luck to you.

CGS isn't hiring currently. They can't even afford to give raises currently. They have an office off Waters where the Aetna building is that is tanking badly. We also work for IBM, and where I'm currently at, although we're now on Rocky Point after leaving the office across from the stadium.

Federal agents came to TTI a few months ago and closed the school for a whole day. They backed up a U-haul moving truck to the door and took away a bunch of files and other records. It was on the news. Where were you?

Less than a week ago I heard something on the news about a U-haul truck taking files away from some other place, not Tampa Tech. I started at TTI in April so if this happened before then, I wasn't there. If you could find me a link to an article or something, I'd appreciate it.

CGS no hire huh? That shoots down that option...
