News Entry Level Computer Job?

Here's the deal, I am about to finish my freshman year at the University of Tennessee, and am looking for a summer job. Though I don't think it's what I'll end up doing career-wise, I think an entry level job in computers would be good for the experience. Also, I would much rather do anything with computers than deal with idiots working as a waitor/busboy at a restaurant with every other college student. So, what would be some entry level jobs that one could have that don't require any certifications/previous experience? Thinking Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City...doing something like working at the computer desk. Thanks in advance.

CN: Need info. on entry level computer jobs not requiring previous experience or certifications.

Dumbass, get a job at the comp labs. You'll learn some real stuff, not how to stick a vid card here or there.

seems like that would be considered more than an "entry level position", seeing they troubleshoot and fix b0rk3d computers.

Don't know who your cable provider is but Comcast help desk makes good money and they get free cable (top package), free phone and free Internet. If nothing else that is a killer deal. Also working HD is a good way to learn how to fix real world problems.

Go check it out. The labs and comp systems is vast and very diverse. I had a job building/maintaining the Avid video editing systems. I was a film major.

Hook up with a consulting company. You have to have some skills though. They can find you short term work. Beware you might be doing something like my first gig, unboxing a ton of computers and setting them up on the desks. It was monkey work but for $20 an hour it was simple work.
