Default 03 wrx brakes on 04 STI rear end?

Hey whats up people. I had a question, could my 03 wrx rear single piston calipers fit on to the STI rear end? I recently did the sti transmission swap and took the whole rear end.. Unfortunately I couldnt get the Brembos.. if they dont fit what could i do to make them fit?

they don't fit and there are no adapters. You can use 06/07 wrx 2-pots though. There are rotors that work with them and the parking brake that you can get from places like rallispec

How about if he switches the backing plates to the 03 WRX backing plates?

Most of these forums say that you can mount the sti brakes on a wrx but you would need an adaptor, or change the backing plates, so wouldnt you think it would be the same? Anyways im about to go try it out and ill let everyone know what the out come is.

The parking brake is bigger on the STi knuckles and the back plate has different hole spacing.

You could do 2 pot rears - but you'd need the 'gravel' rotors.

yeah, there's an adapter to put on brembos or 2-pots, but it's not like you can just flip it around to do the opposite.

You can't use 02-05 wrx brake rotors with those parking brakes anyway. There are only two rotors that will fit - Brembo rotors, and 290x18mm 2-pot/lgt rotors with the 190mm parking brakes. That means there are only two calipers that will fit.

The parking brake is part of the backing Plate. If you switch backing plates, you might as well switch E-brakes too. He's trying to use wrx brakes with STI spindles and it seems like the only issue is the backing plate. I'm just looking for confirmation on this too since I intend to do the same thing.

My problem was that the wrx backing plate center hole was 1/2 in too small to fit over the hub. and even if it did fit, i would have had too change the location of the wheel speed sensor to pick up the sti reluctor wheel.
