Default Other than yourself, who works on your car?

So, I am an disabled vet with back problems and after years of wrenching on my own cars my back pain is sufficient to get me to look for a good shop to do the work for me.

That said I live in Portland an am looking for a competent and reasonably priced (emphasis on competent) shop to do some suspension install work in a few weeks (struts/springs, sways end links, it is a Bilstein non adjustable strut so I wont require corner balancing or damper dyno matching). As this will necessitate an alignment I will also be looking for a place to do a performance oriented alignment. Any suggestions?

I had them do a pre purchase on my STI, very nice shop to deal with.

After much wasted money, time and effort I finally got a good alignment from Alignment Specialists in Aloha. Bit of a drive out there for me but worth it, and after 3 alignments at places I used to think were awesome... ::cough:: AnT tire ::cough:: They were extremely professional and the end result was a car that drives straight, handles great, only rides the highways grooves a smidge and has almost zero understeer compared to the previous alignments. Hope that helps.

Hey there fellow subie owners from the northwest! I was just wondering where is the best place to take our cars for regular maintenance besides the dealer. Any recommendations?

I let W1 and PIA touch my car, and SRP.

thanks to all of you guys/girls for the information,
BREWPUBEAVER, Grey Ghost, HKS, look out, I may very well offer beer 4 help, as an "Older guy"(when compared to many around here) I also offer interesting conversation and a thousand questions (I try never to miss an opertunity fo lernin). If you think you can stand the questions and answers of a vet turned climate physisyst it could be fun. It would still will be a few weeks off as the RCE/Bilstein struts wont be out untill at least some time in may...

I do/did all the work to my cars myself. Saved a crap ton on installation costs and I really don't trust anyone else to touch my cars. The only other place that did anything was PDX Tuning and that was only to tune.

If you are in portland the only place i would trust is pre. They have tuned all my cars (Bobby thier tuner did a awsome job) and recently tuned my buddies 2010 STI. I have known them for a long time and try and make it down there whenever i can.
