More than that with tires wheels, major exhaust components, injectors, etc..I figure I have about 17k of stuff on my car if you include all my wheels/tires..

On another note, I am off for tuning tomorrow hoping to sit high on the VF39 power monger list..

additions from last year, new up-pipe, wrapped headers, TGV delets, APS inlet.. so I am hoping for a tiny bit more top end even if I loose some low end..

First event for me is sunday, going to get my first dataAq data for the season! woot!

What kind of camber curve could be that much better? Mac Struts suck..and the front is where we need more of a curve - lol

335's would actually never heat up at my local venues and you'd be hard press to heat them up without a co-driver at nationals IMO...

ok...lets look

decently prepared BSP car not completely prepped out

-suspension/coilovers $ 3500 for something decent
-Sways: $400
-Rims/Tires: $4000ish...2000 rims....2000 for tires
-intake: $300
-Turbo Back $900
-Tune: $1000
-Seats: $1000
-Bushings and labor $500

so where are we..$11600 to prep the car somewhat decently...then anouther $5000 to get it to a national level...Intake, TGV deletes, inj...Etc....

Wow..I didn't realize I spent that much money...

Only 2K for tires? I spent $3K a few years ago on my local SM WRX project ... and that was only using 245 Hoosiers and 710's. We do run a LOT out here.

I feel at this point I have every power supporting mod sans a Magnus manifold to support our little snail. So we'll see after tomorrow. By the way 10 gallons of C16 cost me $145 bucks today. Upgrading and replacing brakes is expensive too, as well as seats can cost $700 each depending on how you go but with the 21lb limit that isn't so bad cause you don't need the lightest thing..

My list of stuff to build a 2008 BSP car:

ZZYZX or ohlins Coilovers ~4000
TXS Stealth TBE ~800
Whiteline 29mm front sway ~200
Enkei RPF1 18x10.5" ~1200
315/30R18 Hoosier A6 ~1350 shipped and mounted
NRG CF Buckets ~1100 with brackets
GrimmSpeed Header ~330
COBB AP V2 and ProTune ~1000
Hawk HP+ Pads ~250
Stainless Brake Lines ~100

Total ~10050

Of course this isn't considering tires will need to be replaced as well as possibly a clutch if you go to a lot of prosolos. Also, this would be doing your own labor. Dang, that is a lot of money. This is about the extent of the prep of my car but I didn't have such a high dollar suspension or the 315s. I think that would be enough to win everything if you were a very good driver.

What you guys fail to mention is that none of those suspension parts exist yet .

National level autocross isn't cheap if you want to be remotely competitive. I've already thrown over $2000 at my DS car, and I didn't pay near "retail" for most of it... and I haven't included tires yet, either. I also have been installing most of it myself (or getting Justin to help me with it).

Now why the hell did you guys make me add that up?

True. I noticed that when I looked around at some options. Maybe for 2009.

i.e. Tom Berry drivin his Evo.

Maybe there just needs to be another 5k tacked on to woo Gary Thomason, Ken Motonishi, etc to co-drive the car.. shoot they usually have tire contracts so it'd almost be a wash.

Got my first pic of the car in action with this years setup..

busy last couple weeks installing parts and traveling to Agile Automotive to get a tune-up on Friday..I got really blitzed Saturday night and didn't have time to make BSP numbers for myself so I grabbed a set of number plates a local never paid me for, hence the SM numbers, lol...

the worst part is I still got beat by a SM EVO by ~.6 seconds...

I heard hello kitty gets good attention. j/k

Have fun designing it, I've always wanted a full scheme but I'm not creative enough to come up with one that looks good enough, plus, I have sponsor names to incorporate making it even harder.

I think I'd be fine with Baby Doll's sponsoring me for nationals too..particularily if that involved barely clad umbrella girls..

Byron dragway in IL sells it at the strip for $9/gal. P&L charged me approx $15/gal and they got it from AMS who charges similar.

I suggest checking prices at your local strip before going back to where ever you got it from. I'm picking up 10gals on May 17th at the MWSOC shootout because it's so cheap compared to the tuner shops.
