In my own world, ordered ZIIs today. Need to call and get an alignment scheduled, and call a man about a fender roller... 16th is coming up quickly.

I have a 2008 WRX and am just casually autocrossing these days but would like to keep it STX-legal. I recently installed an AEM intake and Cobb AP with OTS stage 1 map.
Anybody happen to know of any STX-legal stage 1-ish maps out there for use with the COBB AP (Accesstuner Race) or with a Tactrix Openport? I fully intend to get a custom tune for STX once I have a downpipe, catback, and whatever other legal power mods are worth doing, but that won't be for awhile, and the 2014 season starts in just a few weeks I realized! |

Even the stage 1 tune isn't legal for stx. If it were up to me, and I don't know what other mods you have (tires, wheels, suspension, etc) I would put the stock intake back on, flash the oem tune back on and run stock class until you are a little more prepped for the class. And this isn't me trying to deter you from autocrossing. You will have a better pax index in street tire or stock class (whichever it is called now).

Yes, I know a stage 1 map isn't STX legal, sorry if that wasn't clear. I've been autocrossing for 11 years and know the rules. That's why I was asking if there were any maps out there that are STX legal (I doubt it, but it never hurts to ask).
I'll probably run ASP in the local street tire indexed class for now. I do have other mods and PAX-wise I'd probably be better off in ASP with my Perrin swaybars, oem 2012 struts/springs, intake and Cobb stage 1, than on the horribly weak OEM 2008 suspension and tune in stock class anyway. If I get an open source STX-legal tune in the future I will certainly share it. |

Oh, well in that case... Haha. ASP would probably be a good class to be in. Unfortunately in the tune department I think you'll have to go open source or buy an accessport and get a custom stx tune. As of right now there isn't an off the shelf stx tune offered by Cobb for the 08.

I have a really good STX-legal custom tune for my '08, but it's for a Cobb intake and Invidia downpipe w/3" exhaust. -Steve |

"At one time we offered off the shelf maps for STX and STU autocross classes. Honestly these maps were not very successful and are very outdated. The best option would be to have the car custom tuned for your class." I also asked about modifying the OTS stage 1/2 maps to keep stock boost levels, and: "Much like you suggested, you could take a stage 2 map and copy and paste the boost tables from a stock mode map into the stage 2 map. This would give you a good starting point using ATR." So that's cool, but it's a bit beyond my capabilities (in terms of making sure it's safe). |

It would be safe, but probably would run rich as it's expecting more boost for the fueling.

Took the 15" wheel setup for a first drive in the country. Can't wait for the first autox. |

Ha! I've been up before, in 2012. Let my passport expire last march and didn't bother getting an enhanced license until oct or so. The real question is, will the Golden Ears bridge actually charge me?

I've never been charged going over. I'm thinking it might be because my car isn't canadian. Used it the entire season I raced up there and on our honeymoon. Wasn't charged in either car.

Yes, true. They probably don't bother. Plus I don't think they have any means of searching your licence as it would not be in our database further to Mr. Me..... which reminds me.. are you going to try to make it out this year with BeBop?

Possible. Depends on how the rest of this spring goes. I may try to co drive if I do make it up.

Boost changes are still illegal in street touring, right? Don't most off-the-shelf Stage 1 tunes touch both boost and wastegate duty tables? Those wouldn't be legal. You'd need to tell / remind your tuner that he can only play with timing and fuel.

Pretty sure memmek2k was just using stage 1 & 2 to make a point about pricing.

IMO don't bother until you get the downpipe, that changes everything.
