Can you say--weight savings!

I'm having a massive part-out of the GT-R, but I am keeping this:

No, not kilos--POUNDS, baby, POUNDS! lol

Ridiculously expensive, but a 25lb weight savings off the nose of the car & phenomenal cranking power & longevity--keeper...

More lightweight add-ons. 17X9". 2" wider & 4+lbs lighter than stock--nice..

Isn't the only difference that the L means the negative terminal is on the left instead of the right? BRZ stock negative is on the left but this battery you could get the non-L and just rotate it 180 degrees.

EDIT: confirmed thats the only difference: http://www.ballisticparts.com/produc...ies/12cell.php

Coming from GT-R tax the past few years regarding lightening purposes--that's a bargain!

Probably not locally. But I wouldn't risk it at national events. Do you have a limited or premium BRZ?

Well the exact rule is:

Quote:
F. Addition of spoilers, splitters, rear wings, bumper covers, valances, side skirts, and non-functional sccops/vents is allowed provided that either:

1. It is a production part which is standard or optional equipment of a US model of the vehicle.

2. It is listed in the vehicle manufacturer's US accessory catalog for that vehicle for normal highway use. This does not allow for parts sold through a manufacturer's performance catalog (e.g., Ford Racing, HPD, MazdaSpeed, Mopar Performance, Mugen, NISMO, SPT, TRD, etc).
So no it wouldn't be legal, and I'm not sure I would test it out. Maybe devise a way to disconnect it?

Guess I'll be spoiler-less...

Okay, here are the new rims, powdercoated Gunmetal. Setup is abt the same as the OEM setup, while being significantly wider.

Although it looks a 4x4 (ASTs can't come soon enough).

2 best recorded runs (got PAX on 1st run). Car is wicked loose @ times (see vid 2 @ the end of the sweeper). I went 1/2 sec quicker in fun run, but I let my 108whp Miata-driver buddy have 4 back-to-back fun runs w/ it. He went quicker than me. He is very fast (and 60lbs lighter), but still bumbed he went quicker. He couldn't go quicker than me in my GT-R though--so I'm still learning the momentum thing...

Have you tried a bigger front sway bar yet? I drove a friend's FR-S this weekend with a Strano 22mm front bar and it felt amazing. It really stabilized the back end, but did not create understeer. I drove his car before the bar was added, so I had a decent idea of the before and after.

I know you got ASTs on the way so the bars you choose will obviously depend on how you setup your ASTs, but I thought I'd at least mention that the 22mm front bar really helped with the stock suspension.

Gents, I normally leave my bars stock & go a little soft on the rear springs; although, I may try Sam's bar. Mg buddy, Ian Stewart has promised me I will love the ASTs. I've had good luck with KWs on my Evos, but thought I'd give these new, aluminum-bodied dampers a try.

The car may ultimately end up with a hair dryer on it & go to SM, but keeping it STX for now...

With the AST, are you sure the fronts are aluminum? I thought those were still steel, the rears are aluminum.
