I was under the impression 8 was the max wheel width in DS...but I'm still a noob so maybe I'm confused.

The Premium and Limited trims of the 2016/2017 WRX come with 18x8.5 wheels, so you can use the 8.5" wheels in DS if you have one of those cars. All trims for 2015 and the base trim for 2016/2017 is limited to 8" wheels. I assume Dr Fraser must have a Premium or Limited from 2016/2017. The downside with those trims is they all come with a sunroof, so that extra weight up high is kind of sucky.

That is correct, I have a limited trim level. Wider wheels, but at the cost of super soft shocks, a sunroof up high, and a heavy power driver's seat. But then again, if I start moaning about the weight disadvantage, I should hit the gym and lose 20lbs before I blame the car

So you are saying a '17 WRX Limited can run 18x8.5" wheels but my '15 WRX Limited can't? SMH :-/

I know rules are rules but same car just different year.

I just had an alignment done at a well known performance shop in Tampa, Fl. They claimed they could only get -.8 degrees negative camber. It seems most say they can get -1.5 or so. My car is a bone stock 2016 wrx. Am I missing something? Are people over exaggerating? Did they shop not know what they were doing? Is there something different with my car? They said it did not have eccentric cam bolts and they tried every thing else to eek out as much as they could.

I suppose there is a possibility that your car may be different but I was able to get -1.5 from both front wheels, not an exageration.

The tech was able to get -1.7 out of the front right but he set both at -1.5 since that's all he could get from the front left. My alignment was performed on bone stock suspension hardware.

The only thing that throws me off is that this is a reputable performance shop that has been around a long time. I just don't get it. Paid 80 to get an additional -.3 of camber. I looked at the bolts and the has the tick marks on it and I was under the assumption that was an eccentric bolt. Dont know what to think...

The top bolt of the 2 strut bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle is eccentric.

see this post for adjustment description: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/4005830-post38.html

You can also eek out a little more by loosening all the bolts (2 on strut at knuckle, and 3 on the top mount) and push the whole assembly to gain camber through whatever tolerances are in the mounting points.

GTWorx bilsteins/RCE yellows/Whiteline top hats. should be fun. just the -2.2 front camber alone will help.

I just bought a 17 and am going to autocross it in a couple weeks. How do I turn off all the traction control? Hold down the button for 2 seconds until all the lights come on?

Yes. If you continue to hold it for another few seconds past the initial dash lights that turn of TC then TRAC mode will turn off too.

I just installed these, RCE yellows, and SPC camber bolts last weekend. The car feels completely different now. Very pleased with the results.

Good Luck!

Where do you live? Autocross here won't happen for another 2ish months..

Do you know how is the competition in the new class you are in?

I've been racing in STX ever since I've been autocrossing. The competition is tough (those damn BRZ/FRS) but I've been holding my own pretty well.

My new RE-71R tires, Hawk HP+ pads, and Stoptech stainless lines will help out nicely too.

Savannah, GA. We had an autocross 10 days ago and the next one is the last weekend of February. It was 80 here today.

Probably not that great. I have another stupid question. Can I use 5mm spacers with the stock wheels and lug bolts? Forget the last question, I found my answer. I was thinking that a little extra "poke" with the stock wheels may help for autocrossing but, I don't think it is worth it.

I've known a couple of guys that race 15+ WRXs in Street with spacers. The stock studs and lugnuts have worked for them. Making your stance wider won't hurt. What made you second guess your idea?

I read some posts on the internet that made it seem potentially dangerous. Do you know how thick of spacers that they were using. I wouldn't mind throwing some 3mm or 5mm spacers on the car.

To be within Street rules, they were using 5mm spacers on the stock wheels.
