STI wheels, aluminum?
Are the aluminum wheels on the STI coated in clear coat? If so does anyone have recommended cleaning techniques? They say not to brush them in the users manual, which makes it really hard to get back and remove the brake dust and road grime.......
And many of the chemicals in the automotive store are bad on clear coat finishes. Please help me treat my new wheels properly. Thanks!!!

They are silver painted with a clearcoat. You should clean them with the same soap you use on your car and a sponge or a sponge on a stick (like a brush). I would not use any wheel cleaners on them if you want them to last long term.

I use a wheel cleaner when the wheels are cool. Then I use 2 soft bristle brushes, a big one, then a small one. Rinse. Then I wash them quick with mild soap and water. I did this once a week for 2 months and it worked great. I'm getting lazy now and seem to be cleaning them once every 2 weeks. It's still works good the wheels look as brand new as 4 month old wheels can look.

I guarantee that you will be satisfied with this product. I use it and it works awesome. You spray it on dry when wheel is cool spray off after 30 seconds or so, then wash with soft mit or sponge and car wash soap. You can't go wrong. Call them and buy the smaller bottle with the sprayer. It will only cost you 22 bucks with shipping I think and it will be the best money you ever spent on your wheels.

I like BMW's cleaner - seven bucks and change. Much cheaper than the German "boutique" stuff and is undoubtedly the same stuff packaged in a different container.

The BMW wheel cleaner is P21S at half the price. Also, the BMW car wash is P21S and is some good stuff.
