![]() So if we go with a relay would the diagram be like this? (don't mind the x y z wire going to relay and so forth since i don't have a pin-out. Used it as a demonstration.)
Can we wire it to the same harness (i have a limited) like Zurcaled did using no relay? I was planning on switching out the OEM 21w 7440 with an LED bulb (they're about 5w), so not worried about blowing any fuses. So like this??? ![]() |

![]() Ran an independent switch today and it works. I used a test light and no issues.
Used Switch: SPST 16A 125V Illuminated Round Rocker Switch with Red LED - Radioshack Quick explanation: Jdm harness has a power and ground. Grounded to a bolt stud by tail light with a m6 x 1 nut. That's going to be my ground from the harness Power from harness is going to the front of vehicle. Very easy and took 15 min to run. Take apart the trunk left side lining and run a long wire. Ran underneath the kick panel sills. Ran the power to the front of the vehicle to fuse panel area. The switch is mounted in the dummy hole to the left of the trunk release. That switch has 3 prongs: power (fuse), lead (to jdm fog), and ground. Tapped with ez atm fuse tap into cig lighter 10amp. Used a 5amp fuse for the jdm fog. Grounded to a metal bolt below steering wheel. It's a 10mm bolt and easy to see once you remove the plastic cover over the fuse panel Obviously connected the lead to the final (middle) prong. Used a test power/ground light in the trunk where the wires are and the second I hit the rocker switch, it lit up Very easy and about hour labor wiring all including taking everything apart. Hope this helps. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Subie FA20; 01-05-2015 at 07:46 PM. |

Diode Dynamics sells glass fogs with adapter plugs, or (what I did) can get just the adapter plugs and get 2010 Outback fogs from Rock Auto, relay and switch from an online Subaru site and just cut out the blank spot on the switch panel, the wires and plugs are already there. Also found out that some 2010? Ford and 2008? Nissan fog lights are the same style. Also will need 2 screws and clips from Subaru to hold the lights in. I didn't get the light trim, just popped out the center cover off the big black plastic piece (it is already two pieces) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using NASIOC mobile app |

![]() I want to do something like this, but that switch on the panel is for a front fog light not rear fog.
