Talking Ej207 Vendors besides Gruppe-S or Lachute?

Alright, so the time has come and I am finalizing where to buy my Ej207 from. As of right now my best bet is Gruppe-S or Lachute. But the other vendors listed in the FAQ sell built short blocks and not the OEM unit I am looking for.

Does anyone know of other vendors that could get the Ej207? I am trying to shop around, but I am not finding many reliable places to do so.

Also, for those on here that have done the Ej207 swap, where did you get it from, what would you have done differently if you could do it over, and finally, any tips on the swap?

FYI, its a V7 Ej207 into a 2002 WRX swap.

Thanks in advance

*EDIT* for future searchers ive compiled an up to date list of companies selling EJ207's. Even though no one has one in stock for me . Ive rated the sites out of 4 stars (only based on email and phone conversations)

-fourstarmotorsports.com (waiting to hear back)
-naganojapanese.com *
-lachuteperformance.com ****
-Gruppe-s.com ***
-japandirectjapanese.com (waiting to hear back)
-japanesestarmotor.com (never responded)
-jdmspecc4u.com ****

I swapped a complete v8 ej207 into my bugeye. I already had a v7nondccd 6mt to mate with it. Did the swap myself and only difficult stuff was the slight rewiring to use avcs. I got the setup from JDMspecC4u, and Andre there was a great source of information for any questions I came across. My setup also had less than 5k km on it and was literally clean enough to eat off of. The setup was all inclusive so ecu, twinscroll, longblock,ic,dp,pins for rewiring, etc. He is based out of Canada, so customs was a bit of a hassle and delayed shipment slightly - but that seemed like a small price to pay once I had everything in front of me.

What made you go V8 over V7? Also is V8 drive by wire?

Also do you mean JDMspecC? There is no JDMspecC4u on Nasioc.

Sorry, perhaps he is no longer a paying vendor on nasioc, I know he was at one time though. Appears his website is still up at least

Oh yeah, the other questions... I had contacted Andre with intentions of buying a v7 setup, but he talked me into the v8 after asking why I wanted v7. I explained I had heard the v7 would be a bit more stable given the forged pistons. He said where some tuners may have found those results, he had never had a problem with a v8. Under normal circumstances, the v8 pistons are actually stronger, but they will not tolerate much abuse (i.e. pinging, bad tune, etc). Some also say the v8 revs a little easier on the low end as a result of the lighter pistons, but I don't have a v7 to compare.
My jdm v8 was not drive-by-wire.

v7 pistons are forged.
v8 are hyperuetic..spelling.

you ask for v7 then get v7.
don't let someone talk out of v7 for v8.

also be wary of gruppe-s..they often send
wrong motors to customers.

Thanks everyone

Seems like everyone is out of stock, but hopefully when one comes in I get my hands on it.

If anyone knows of any other vendors keep them coming

Got mine from JDMenginescorp.com . I've heard horror stories about them, as i've heard about EVERY engine vendor, but my experience was terrific. Superb customer service, and speedy(and free!!) shipping. 9-grand got me a ver8 v-limited motor, drivetrain, brembos, etc. Basically everything short of the turbo-back exhaust and wiring harnesses. Everything was packaged nicely, and the motor looked brand new.
