Default Homelink not registering with garage door

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else has any issues syncing their garage door openers with homelink. I have a genie garage door system, my brother's 2015 wrx have not been able to use the homelink in his car to open/close the garage door. I have a 2016 wrx and it works fine with the garage door. I have already erased all the previous remotes on the garage door, was able to re-sync my homelink but not my brother's. I am able to sync other remotes with the system but not his. Any help/tips

thanks

Did you follow the directions with the learn feature at the opener itself. I believe you have to push the button on the actual door open and then follow directions, I believe you have to hold the homelink button in the car and it should close or open the door.

go to www.homelink.com
You can put in your garage door info and it will show a video of how to program

Ir0nmanx, I was also having issues with programing my genie garage to my Outback and Crosstrek. Here's what I did, follow the instruction in your manual for the garage door opener. Once that was complete I then had to go press a small button on the actual genie garage door motor then press the corresponding button on the home link. Here is a link i used.

We've had issues with our garage door, but it turned out that a previous contractor poured epoxy over the receiver. Luckily, we had another great company fix that and it all works like a charm now!
