Default Car won't start...help please

So I installed a SZ49, front mount, PE 800 cc injectors, walbro, TBE and uppipe with EWG and then I had Junior at ICS put in fuel rails and the Delta for the 06 WRX.

As he was tuning it he realized that the UTEC was faulty because it wouldn't allow him to tune it past 5500 rpms. So he told me to drive it normal (this is my daily driver) and bring it back when the new one came in. The only problem was that the car would sometimes stall at idle and it would be unreliable over 5K rpms.

So I drove it home last night and it was fine. It would be choppy at idle but I would just tap the gas a little bit to keep it from stalling. Same thing this morning.

I took the car to Philadelphia to see my girlfriend and it was fine the whole way. I cruised at around 70-75 the whole way and the car even seemed OK when I hit some traffic and had to stop.

When I got to Philly, I got off the exit, came to a light and the car stalled and it would not start again. I called Junior and we tried a million things to get it to work and nothing did it. I had it towed to a local AAA yard overnight, but I need to get it running tomorrow so I can get it home.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help

-Matt

why the f would you drive the car such a long distance if you knew it was running crappy????

find a local in philly who has a tactrix cable, tell him to reflash your ecu for the injectors, totally disconnect and remove the utec from the equation (c'mon txs where's the QC on the deltas???), run wastegate boost, and keep it slow all the way home. with the injectors accounted for, your oem ecu will keep things sane if you keep the rpms and the boost down... the lower the better.

that's what i'd do.

If I had known this or anything like this was going to happen I would never have driven it. I was under the impression that the car was going to mess up at higher rpms and at idle and that the solution would be to take it easy up top and don't let the RPMs fall enough to let it stall. It wasn't running that crappy that I can explain why this happened.

I drove the car for 1000 miles with everything installed except the injectors and kept it out of boost and there were no problems. When junior went to set the injectors and realized the the UTEC was faulty it ran fine and started up right away every time.

I disconnected the UTEC and the battery and hooked up the stock ECU and it still wouldn't start.

I'm stumped.

Your car shouldn't run with those injectors without the utec or something that adjusts fueling for the change in injector size. Put the utec back in. Are you using speed density fueling? If you don't know, ya might wanna copy your screen on all of the parameter pages and post em up here.

peace

I'd bet that's a common feeling for you. I deleted basicly the same thing 5000 said. I figure most here have heard enough of my rants for the time being.

If you dont have the ability to pull yourself out of a puddle, don't drive into that puddle.

In the mean time, I'd jump over to one of the regional forums and beg for mercy in hopes that someone with a laptop and a grain of sense might help you out.

And by regional forums, I mean one that overlaps the PA. borders.

While you are walking around philly... and I mean WALKING, check out that museum full of freaks of nature. I've never gotten to see that. Post some pics.

Thanks for the help.

It's nice to know that when someone has a problem no one can get off their horse for 2 seconds to try and help.

I guess e-parenting is the new thing. If I wanted a speech about how stupid I am for this, I would have asked my mom for help.

Maybe you should ask your mom before you do more things? I tried to help, I was ignored. Good luck though man....

Hmm. Ride made some suggestions but he harshed on you a little. Hippy explained some of the situation to you and recommended you give us more info. I'm a jerkass but I did suggest you try to find some local help through this part of the forum: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=26 .

"Why my car won't start" has about a thousand wrong answers and one right one. Answer #254: Out of gas.

Maybe I just picked the right answer out of the air. Go check and then post a picture. Only 999 things left to try.

Toughen-up buttercup.
