^^Subarus have AWD and cheap paint. Those two characteristics don't mix well. My flaps help to keep the chips to a minimum. Especially at the beach house road which is primarily sand, gravel and shells.^^^

People asked me why my headliner was removed.
"Is that what Subaru owners do?"
Yes because rallycar.

Agreed. You don't have to be a dick when someone is complementing your car and asking about it, even if he might not be very knowledgeable about cars.

"do you have a bov"

"no i have a wastegate"

kind of shows exactly how much you know about your own car . if you cant figure out how that makes you look stupid....

alright, by all means my car isnt stock, i have all supporting mods to run a waste gate, not trying to argue because you know more then i do i have no problem admitting that.

He didn't ask if you had a wastegate. a wastegate is required for building and controlling boost within a turbocharged system. ALL turbos have a wastegate.

the appropriate response to "DO YOU HAVE A BOV" is "No, I have a bypass valve (BPV)". A bpv is a fully recirculating BOV.

a BOV is not a wastegate, and doesn't have close to the same function. they are completely un-related.

He asked if you had a BOV, a normal person would respond "no I have the stock bypass valve"

You responding with a wastegate is like me asking if you have an arm and you say no but I have a leg. Uh... ok not what I asked at all.

I'm not quite sure if this belongs in this thread.

I was filling up at a gas station the other day and a nissan maxima (newer one) pulls up at the pump next to me. Middle-aged asian guy gets out and says "nice car" so being the polite person I am I say "thanks, you too". I go into the store to buy milk and on the way out I notice that the back of his maxima has been debadged and a BMW "M" badge put on it
