Question HID question and advice

wuttup bay area peeps,

well the subject line says it all, i've actually searched through the forums quite a bit over the subject of HIDs, but I wanted to get more information from local experiences since I live in the area too

well first i really dont want to spend all that much money (eg. buying the jdm hid kits) i'm primarily looking just for something like the phillips HID d2r 9007 kit

since i got some polargs to replace the marker lights, i wanted my headlights to match as well, and then there's the added bonus of better headlights in general

so has anyone else in my situation (still using reflector housing) done the HID mod in this area and how do you like it?? (do peeps flash you, is the light scattered, what kit did you use)

thanks a lot you guys, you make the bay area forum da bomb

oh yeah i also tried searching for that particular phillips kit online and i couldnt find it anywhere.... for those of you in my situation, where did you purchase your kits??

they were GB's going on while ago in the vendor's forum. People are happy with them and I have seen the kit/plug and play as low as 3-500. The thing that has stop me personally is that you do loose your high beams since the WRX light is a dual fillament (high/low).

the ideal solution is to get aftermarker lights (like the Morette's and then fit individual hi/lows. then you can have HId low and regular hi's or even dual HIDs if you buy both sets.

Keep in mind that none of those are DOT approved and they do not have an HID corrected beam or an automatic leveling system that comes standard with any factory installed hid system (at least in the US).
