sub'd. I was going to go with MXR 18.9x5 +38 But I do believe im sold on these in 18x9.5 +42 for my 15-16 sti when I find a good deal. Itll be nice to run 265 with less fitment issues then +38. And since im not dropping the car super low, it should be cake.

Fronts are 'awesome' and rears are 'wicked awesome'.

235/40/17 AD08R front and 265/35/18 AD08R on rear. These are on my current 818 build. Getting closer to go karting this thing around the neighborhood!

Installed!

Rear wheels look meaty

Front wheels installed:

BTW - if any of you are detailing aficionados, this is the steps I used prior to install for long-term protection.

Anytime I purchase a new set of wheels I seal them prior to installation. It really goes a long way in keeping them perfect. Here are the steps I use:
1. Degrease with Meguires all purpose degreaser/cleaner - inside of barrel, face of wheel, inside/outside tire.
2. Apply Prima Wheel Armour, which is a sealant specifically for wheels.
3. Follow up with last step product of your choice. I like Menzerna Powerlock and Prima Hydro. They both leave a wet appearance and add a lot of slickness.
4. Apply Adam's RTV to inside/outside of tire face and buff off. I also hit the valve stem with this product. This product is usable on rubber or vinyl trim and leaves a matte finish once buffed off. Plus it's waterproof and lasts several washes before re-application.

With the above steps I find it really easy to keep the barrels clean. I've also found that less rubber sticks to the barrels of the wheels when driving at the track. Or it flies back off because they're so damn slick!

I think I can see a "225" peeking out -- probably 225/45R17.

I sealed my Wicked Awesome's with two coats of FK1000P, both face and barrels before I put them on my STi. I agree with the fact that it helps a ton on keeping them clean. Just waiting for it to start warming up around here so I can get them cleaned back up!

Thanks! No better feeling than seeing parts going onto the car. There are times I think my wife is happier than I am. Every part going onto the car means parts leaving the house/dining room. I try to use this to rationalize additional time in the garage with varying amounts of success.

Sorry for whoring out my car in this thread, but when I was shopping for wheels there wasn't many pictures of a white GR hatch on gold Wicked Awesome's out there. Figured these would help future buyers.

Finally got the car cleaned up after the winter, and put the wheels on with the new powdercoat.

Not that I know of. But keep in mind that different brands of tires can have different widths, even in the same nominal size.

I know this is a spank gallary, but I'm trying to find out if a 245 wide tire will fit on a 06 WRX without rubbing/fender work? I'm about to buy these wheels, so I was thinking of 235 or 245.

Edit:
Forgot to mention I'm lowered.

245, not without rubbing. The 235/40R18 will fit okay.

As you mentioned, though, I'd like to keep this a gallery thread, not a Q&A about fitment. You can ask that in other threads.

Without a doubt will be picking up a set in gold as soon as I educate myself on tire sizing. Total noob when it comes to this stuff, but I'm loving all the pics.
