The rear WRX brakes/H6 bracket are new within a year or so and the hardware, pistons, and dust boots are pretty fresh.
The front Brembos were rebuilt with new pistons, bleeder valves, banjo bolt, and o rings a year and a half ago. The dust boots now are flaking in local areas, on 8/10 pistons from heat/dryness. Up to you if you would want to replace them - machV sells a few different cheap kits if you felt inclined. I attached a picture below showing more detail of the dust boot exampe. https://i.imgur.com/PZneFiX.jpg |

Why was the engine pulled? 270 seems pretty anemic for a hybrid build of this caliber- what's the story there? Is there a limiting factor I am missing?
I just spun a bearing on my beloved 04, so I am interested in the entire engine and a handful of the supporting mods as I was planning to have an eerily similar build done by IAG myself. Let me know, Tim |

Hi Tim -
I decided to part the vehicle out due to body damage on the car, and I had space/time to support a part out. The chassis was sold but I kept the engine and parts. No known issues on the engine prior to removal. We (MachV and myself) electronically limited the engine to produce 270 hp due to a weight to power regulation used for performance driving classification. The engine made 330 ft-lb torque with this tune. If you did a max run, the limit would be the VF48. It can only produce a max of 300 hp and 345 ft-lb torque on my particular setup. The hybrid engine was a ton of fun to drive even with it tuned conservatively. Send me a PM and I can share my contact info. Most recent tune April 2019 from MachV below. We pretty much tried to draw a flat line across the hp curve at 270 hp. https://i.imgur.com/iPalzN6.jpg |
