which way do cp pistons go into ej22t
The wrist pin seems to have an offset and theres a difference in the skirt, is what Im being told anyway.
The machine shop my motor is at is waiting to hear back from me on which way these pistons go in... No word back from axis yet or CP. Anyone know?

Find an FSM, but more importantly you should realy think twice about using a shop that doesnt know how the motor goes together.

The factory service manual doesn't have anything on which side goes on the intake or exhaust for cp pistons. edit:

CP should be able to tell you what the distinguishing markings on the pistons are that tell you where they go and what direction they should face.
Stock pistons will have an "R" for right and an arrow pointing in the direction that faces front. http://www.angelfire.com/md3/91turbo...ackground.html ej22T piston (right) vs. N/A ej22 piston (left) Last edited by MY99 2.5GT; 04-29-2005 at 09:54 AM. |

I did check with CP, and they referenced the job # on the box of pistons, and they were saying there was no offset for the wrist pin and the pistons were asymmetrical.
The machine shop found a slight offset I guess, which Im imagining must have been within the tolerance. Even the machinist figured they could go either way, but he wanted to double check to be sure. I figured someone on here would definitely know. And Ron at Axis confirmed this anyway. Thanks for the information though. |

If you went with CP I assume they are custom pistons not shelf stock. What compression did you go with and how much did you pay?
I'm looking at Wiseco Forged 8.5:1 shelf stock for $499. Brad |
