The pieces fit perfectly together using this process, better than 2 machined surfaces coming together. The 3.6 liter H6 also uses this process.

We took it to the track two weeks in a row.

Really need to switch to SD tuning before we can go back

So maybe 2 weeks

Notice the lack of port holes to install the piston pins, must be able to tighten the rod bolts from the crankcase area now that they are angled.

Is this the motor out of the white one? Did you guys take it out because something failed, or did you take it out to just see what your dealing with?

Guys at EcuTek are just fixing a few bugs on the latest RaceRom stuff.

Flex Fuel support , 4 maps on the fly, ecu controlled ebcs and of course SD tuning

What's even more exciting is all this stuff will be ported to the other Subies very soon

Check that out!!! Nice job man!! These are looking extremely tempting now. Amazing progress in such a small amount of time! You guys are way ahead of the curve

I took apart an ej205 once that way.... wrist pins were stuck and I didn't want to do a sloppy job grinding on the pistons enough to de-bur them through the wrist pin holes... that was a PITA

That's the point, they are made that way to make the assembly process in the factory easier.

But today we have new dyno numbers.

Don removed the cat located in the header

Since we're seeing a lot more airflow we lowered the boost to 18PSI.

Couldn't pull it to 8500-9000rpms because the Car is pegging the 3.5inch MAF

How can you make power @ 8500+rpms with stock heads/cams??

but awesome numbers

Imo, the stock cam is suited for high rpm NA power, slapping a turbo on there won't change that.

looking good. Im still looking forward to seeing what this thing is going to do with 93/ 93+meth, even if it does involve dropping compression down. I dont have e85 readily available in my area....

wait: you drive a FD RX-7 and you are worried about a subaru's engine failing? :giggle:

It doesn't have a rotary in it.

If this lasts, this might replace the 2.2L for legendary durability. Scratch that, if this engine lasts, the 2.2l never could have touched what this is doing. Not even close.

Yeah I'm curious as to how long something like this will last on the street. Time will tell, I guess.

No rotary. The replacement setup should be perfectly reliable at ~750whp.

I've had several Subarus, one well over 500whp. I don't think a BRZ needs anywhere near that much, but 170ish seems a bit underwhelming this day in age. I'd like to see that there is some headroom for adding power.

Even though the liners are thicker, it's still open deck. May not be a problem until insane power levels are reached, but either way, it's not the most optimal design for big power. Though this 2.0 is obviously alot stronger than the old 2.0's

Props to everyone involved for pushing this thing to see where it can go
