reading comprehension? or are you just a hypocrate too?
The point I'm making, is why is it okay to ban one type of illegal activity, while allowing and promoting other illegal activity. Where do you draw the line if the goal is to remove all illegal activity?

You may be right that removing catalytic converters is illegal, but last time I checked catless pipes are sold for "off-road use only" and neither a dyno nor a drag strip are on the road. I think our vendors are safe for the moment . |

"Street racing posts of ANY kind, illegal or otherwise, must be posted in the Off-Topic forum or they will be deleted without question. NASIOC does not support illegal street racing in any way, shape or form." -Forum Rules
So what's the point of not allowing people to post their videos in the PPB forum? Is it merely the idea that the name will induce some sort of string of increasingly competitive videos? You clearly don't condone illegal street racing, but for you to only allow these videos in the Off Topic section begs the question of why they can be posted there and nowhere else. I wonder how far this is supposed to go. No posts of ANY kind means that not only can we not embed videos, nor can we talk about a race we've been a part of or link to a video that we have, whether it involves us or not......unless it's in the OT section. If the rule is to be applied, it needs to be first clarified and then applied across the broad spectrum of the forum, without exception. Picking and choosing which part of the forum can and cannot post this information only reduces the legitimacy of the rule as a whole. /.02 |

People are retarded and easily influenced, this should have been enforced long ago. Just because they aren't allowing it on these forums doesn't mean you can't go get your fix elsewhere, who really cares.

Look, my post was very clear. Don't post videos of street-racing. It's really quite simple. I don't care if your car uses aborted fetuses for fuel and you want to post dyno sheets, just don't post videos of street-racing. mKay? |

Videos of street-racing are not allowed anywhere on the site. Because moderators are human and OT is a ****-flood, it's hard to monitor everything there. But it is still not allowed. You wanna talk about street-racing? That's off-topic, not for PPB. Either way you're going to get flamed. If you have to ask why, you should probably street-race yourself right into a brick wall. |

#1 I pointed out street racing at any powerlevel is wrong. *edit* and I AGREE they should not be posted *edit* #2 I am therefore, not making a direct comparsion or assumtpion that street racing is less dangerous than installation of illegal parts. #3 I am making a point that your quoted goal of not allowing any illegal activity is in DIRECT violation of showing Illegally modified cars. You can try to twist this and read more into it but those are facts, and simple truths. Are you really saying that every dyno posted in california with illegal parts has had the vehicles towed there? Well that was rather unnecessary of you to say. I've never been personally insulted by a moderator, especially for asking for mere clarification. Interesting feeling.
Thanks for kind of answering my question though, however uncouth it may have been. I figured it was just because it was near impossible to monitor all the activity that goes down there. I understand the difficulty of your job, but calm down. I'm on your side. |

You seem caught up on the thought that we disallow videos of street-racing purely because in and of itself is illegal, and that is not the case. There are more reasons than that. It's a simple rule, no need to dissect it- don't post street-racing videos. Thank you Quote:
You were not insulted. I only answered your question. My comment about 'if you need to ask why' was not aimed at anybody in particular, only answering a question that someone was bound to ask |

He does not need to retract his statement.
There is more to it than SIMPLY being illegal. NO STREET-RACING VIDEOS. It's that simple. Deal with it. I no longer care that you think our statements or rules are hypocritical. When you open your own forum and see the ramifications of allowing such things, then you will understand. Until then, just abide by the rules and we'll all live happily ever after. We are done here. |

I apologize as I apparently read your post incorrectly. I thought you were attempting to justify street racing by pointing out an allowance for vendors to advertise builds that are technically "illegal". As far as hypocrisy is concerned...it tends to be a requirement at times. I don't necessarily enjoy it all the time, but more often than not we have to make exceptions to rules in the best interest of the community. |

This seems to get overlooked too often.
Posting of street racing videos is still not allowed in Proven Power Bragging. Its considered inappropriate content and will earn you an infraction. One to many infractions and you'll find yourself banned from NASIOC. Don't post the videos. |
