Well, I finally got some time to do a mini detail on my WRX. I didn't take pictures during the detail as I was trying to beat the rain. The pictures shown are after it rained unfortunately. While Polishing, I realized that this car has absolutely no flat surface with the exception of the front doors which makes polishing more...fun.

Products Used:
-Adam's Car Wash
-Menzerna SI 1500
-Menzerna SF 4000
-Menzerna Power Lock Sealant
-Stoner's Invisiible Glass w/Rain repellant
-Turtle Wax All Wheel Cleaner
-Wolf Chemical's De-ironizer
-Meguiar's Quick Detailer (Clay Lube)
-Detailer's Domain Fine Blue Clay

Machines/Materials:
-PC 7424XP
-Detailer's Domain Orange, Green, and Black pads
-0000 Steel Wool
-XL Chamois
-Blow Dryer
-3000 Grit Sandpaper (I had quite a bit of holograms and a good scratch on one of the doors
-Detailer's Domain Green Polish Removal Microfiber Towels
-Griot's Foam Gun
-2 Buckets

Pictures: I'll post better ones once the sun goes down

Looks great. Im going to have to invest in some of this stuff as I just bought my first new car and am looking to keep it new as long as possible.

Gets pricey when you add it all up...

Great job. That's one wet looking paint.

A little correction to your list I think you ment to say Wolf's Chemicals instead of Wolfgang.

Tell me about it, luckily everything was paid for in my first few jobs of detailing for others.

No you don't, the swirls that this thing had was insane. The black only amplified it. It's kind of a love-hate relationship.

Thanks! Menzerna is some of the best stuff from my experience. It's only a tad more expensive than M105/205 too. You're detail was pretty awesome as well! I wish I purchase the white wrx I test drove despite it being more expensive lol.

Great job! I have to do a similar procedure about every 6 months on my OBP too. Definitely the last time I buy a black car, but it does look awesome after paint correction/sealant etc. I'm currently using Chemical Guys sealant but might try Menzerna next time. Not that I am not satisfied with CG, I think their product is pretty good.

^Yeah I hear you. The car isn't even garaged which makes things even worse =(. I think a car cover will scratch the paint even more when taking it on/off. Le sigh, at least it looks good now lol.

hey i have a 2012 pbp wrx sedan. and I have swirls in them from the dealership that washed my car prior to pick up. my friend has the ultimate detailing kit that has the ultimate compound in it as well as the ultimate polish. is this safe for the paint so new? I have used compounds before, but not on one with this color.

Yes, that'll be fine, but it won't resolve your swirl issue. I had to waste quite a bit of money before I realized that Detailer's Domain was on here. Shoot them a PM with pictures, he's far more experienced than me.

Yeah, I love the stuff! I usually use newspaper or microfiber cloths, usually which one is closest lol. Either way, the product dries with no streaks.

Do you do mobile detailing? I have a garage you can work in.

Seriously, I need someone like you to look at my paint and tell me how bad it is and what I can do to improve its condition. I've tried washing (two bucket method), using claybar, applying polish, and applying wax but I can only do so much by hand. I think I need an orbital polisher, but I'd like someone to show me how to use one.

That looks fantastic...black cars have always scared me since working at a dealership and seeing the horror stories...but this is SHARP

How long of a process was this?

Heh, the process was shorter than usual do to the fact that I didn't even touch the interior lol. I worked from 4 AM to around 8 PM. That puts my time around 16 hours. A detail like this with me actually taking my time takes around 19-22 hours without interior cleaning.

It's normally a 2-day process for 2-step polishing lol.
