If you are posting from your phone, just stop. Stop and find a real computer. You cannot write a proper For Sale ad for a car from a phone. I have never seen it done. You need a full sized computer with a web browser, so that you can fill in all the appropriate details and pictures.
-------------------------

1: Thread title - Choose a Prefix (FS, FS/FT) from the dropdown. You must put the state abbreviation (or location if you're outside the US) at the start of the title. Note that "Feeler" is not an option... it's for sale only. Note that saying that you're "Testing the market" equals "feeler" and will get your thread locked. No excessive CAPS, punctuation ~~~*** or eBay-style nonsense allowed.

VA: 2002 WRX, 70k, loaded, $9,000

(did you notice up there that the first 2 letters are a state abbreviation?)

You can edit your thread title! Just hit the Edit button and then Go Advanced.

2: Post the car YOU are selling -
Please, no "selling for a friend."

3: No links to Craigslist or eBay or the FS thread on some other car forum. Put the information in your thread.

4: Location Location Location - post the location of the car. 2-letter State abbreviation in the thread title FIRST, more specifics in the body.

5: Gray Market Cars are NOT allowed: This is because we are not the NHTSA or DOT and we don't know if your totally legit....I swear....RHD 30 year old Subaru was legally imported or if it was brought in before the 25 year point illegally. If it was imported illegally, it can be 100 years old and it's subject to the 60 day notice, then will be picked up and crushed by the feds. We don't want to be involved. eBay, BaT and craigslist are your friends.

VIN - If you don't want to post the VIN in your thread, that's okay. However, you must provide it to potential buyers over PM or email if they ask. Banks require the VIN for loan applications and insurance companies require it for a potential buyer to get a quote.

6: Pictures - You MUST post them or the ad will be closed. NASIOC now hosts pictures. Make an account with your NASIOC username, then use our own hosted pictures. https://img.nasioc.com/ Please do NOT send your potential buyers off to some other forum to find pictures, especially if they have to register. Note (see other sticky) that photobucket no longer allows links from free accounts. Don't use google pictures or any from snapchat, facebook or your computer. They won't show up. If moderators who don't have facebook/google/snapchat/whatever can't see the picture, it's not going to fly.
If you don't post pictures IN the ad, we will close your ad
Currently suspended while site gets straightened out

7: Price - post the price of the car, don't just ask for offers. A hint: If you put your price as $Price, people notice it. Please don't make people hunt for the price. If a price looks high to you, DON'T POST A COMPLAINT. That's OKAY. Just leave it alone, or PM them with a reasonable offer. DO NOT post "wtf that price is WAY HIGH u suk!"

8: One bump per day (24 hours) - Like it says. Also, if someone replied to your thread an hour ago, please don't "use your daily bump" an hour later to rocket it back to the top. We all have to use the forum together.

Time - Threads that have existed for more than three months may be subject to closure, at the moderator's discretion. By that point it is often clear that the car is overpriced or generally undesirable. If your car is not selling or attracting reasonable interest each week, then your price is likely too high. If your thread has been open for a year, then it's pretty clear that you have no interest in selling the car and the thread will be closed.

9: Respect - If you look at a seller's thread and you don't like the product being offered, or the price being asked, or the color of the font... keep it to yourself. Similarly, sellers should respect the people who post in their threads. Break this rule at your own risk.

If someone's asking $10,000 for a car you're sure is only worth $5,000... then I highly doubt anyone will buy that car. Leave them alone and let them dream of getting top dollar in peace. By arguing about the price you simply clutter the forum further, bumping threads for things you say are overpriced.

This same rule applies for potential buyers or casual onlookers. If you're not asking the seller a polite question, you probably should not be posting in the Classified thread. This is not the place to get into debates and discussions on cars, mods, prices, colors, or anything else.

10: Post Want to Buy threads in the Wanted forum, not here.

11: No dealership postings, again: no grey-market vehicles.
a grey market vehicle is one that could not legally be bought new in the US. 25 year old Skyline? Nope. Grey market.

12: No For Trade only because the guy who wants your car might have a pocket full of cash and not have the 2005 LGT 5 speed no-sunroof wagon that you demand

lucky 13: Breaking every single rule We have a special feeling for people who 1) don't put the 2 letter state 2) simply link a CL ad 3) say that their father/sister/brother/neighbor has this car for trade. When you break multiple rules..... At the moderator's choice, we'll simply make the ad disappear

My thread was locked, and now I don't know WHAT to do!!! Take a deep breath, calm down, and make a new thread. Follow these rules this time.

14: New Members If you just joined and made enough obviously worthless posts to get past the software gates and then come post your car, expect the post to be closed and you to be banned. If you're not a member who wants to participate in NASIOC, that's ok.....that's what craigslist is for.

15: Sold Vehicles Congratulations, you've sold your car. Please now give others a chance. If you want to let people know it's sold, your best steps are to change the title of your ad to *SOLD*. That's it. It will drop off the first page, never to be looked at again. We do not delete ads after you have sold your car So please don't add yet another post saying "sold, please delete" because we won't delete it and now you've clogged up the ads by bumping to the top. Why don't we delete ads? Because if there's a problem in the future (say you take someone's money and then don't deliever the car), we want to be able to allow members to see your ad. Oh....if you change your ad to hide things, the moderators can recover what used to be there and revert it to the original wording, in case you're trying to scam people.

Is your post "moderated" and appears to be closed or blocked or something? PM a moderator in this section. The forum software does this for some unknown reason. We can "approve" your thread. Please don't attempt to post the same ad 12 times. The software doesn't take naps and will just moderate your attempts.

Consolidating into one thread.

What you need in your post:

The car has to be yours (not my friends, not your cousin's hot sister)
You need the 2 letter state as your first 2 letters of the title.
You need a number price in the ad (not....give some offers)
If you say "testing waters", or anything to that effect, the ad gets locked.
If you are brand new, as one our most esteemed mods says "created account, made 3 garbage posts and trying to pedal his car here", stick around and contribute. If you can't do that, that's ok. Craigslist.org is your place.
You need pictures IN the ad. Not links, not "text me", not "look in the craigslist ad". NASIOC has a new, cool, self hosted picture site. Create your own account using your NASIOC username. https://img.nasioc.com/

Without all of this, your ad will be closed. Post it again and it will be closed or perhaps it will just be made to disappear.

Read the 2nd sticky on how to put in a picture you can see. If I can't see it, it doesn't count. I'm not clicking on anything. If I have to click on anything, it's going to be that little button I have that says "close thread".
