As far as the video goes, the idiots that did this "review" need to get fired, and banned from the public. The way the comparison is carried out and the presentation is executed is utterly dismal. I'd rather watch that dumb documentary "Super-Size Me" a hundred times over while curling up into the fetal position and listening to "Cry Me A River" before I even have to watch anything else produced by these guys.

Again, both great cars. I myself will be getting a 2011 WRX soon. But holy crap, how uninformative this video is, with all the failed humor attempts and the blatant ripoff of "The Stig" on Top Gear.
We are so glad you came back and bumped this thread. Every point you make is completely original and we've never heard them before. Thank you for pointing them out for the first time.

That is just creepy. Another reason to never watch this Douche. WTF is a kid doing hiding in the front seat? Another sad attempt at humor. Lastly who the hell humped that girls leg to get a kid. Sick.

Looks like we found the daddy. If we all get lucky maybe she'll choke and it'll all end right there.

About the video. It was terrible, pathetic attempt in all ways. I can think back to a chemistry lab sometime back in high school and when you test things you need more control. To go changing ANYTHING especially having a different person drive each car.... argh. I guess that is it. And for what it is worth i am partial to 05 STI, although i daily driving a swapped gc.

I really don't like this video, the host sux and comes of as stupid. Seems like he doesn't know anything about cars and the whole thing is cheesy. I do like the 2011 though, looks sort of cool.

The host is a retard. You can not make four hundred or even five hundred horse power with the few mods just said. Get another job or learn more about cars.

I still prefer the '07 over the '11

Obviously the host favored the newer one

05 WRX wagon EJ207 with 07 STI tranny Since we are throwing mods out there, I like the functionality!

This should be closed already. It's clear the new sti is better and the gd guys are upset.

Astute observation. I would hope a 4 MY newer car would be an improvement, not a lateral movement.

i agree that they should of used the stock wheel and tire setup for the comparison.

To all of those whining about them not using the same or correct tire/wheels, read last months Grassroots Motorsports. Lighter tires and wheels do not alway equal faster. The need to use the same tire to equalize this equation was far more significant. Good test guys.

I just worked on my friend's 06 STI. There is no difference whatsoever. Except that his is a friggin beast with the same parts as mine. So... my car rides and handles better. His will snap your fuggin head into the headrest when 3000 hits. I want his power.. given same mods.. and my handling. Then i'd be as happy as a pedophile in an elementary school...lol.

I can't tell who is really more insecure, the '07 STi owners... or the '11 STi owners.

Again, why is this thread still open?

Having owned both a GD STi and a GR STI, both stage 2, both with similar suspension setups, I have to say the GR had more grip and was overall faster around an autocross course (when the engine wasn't blowing up) and the GD felt edgier and faster, but it wasn't faster.

I just wanted to say that Ken Block should be the driver in any subaru testing.
