Subaru did the right thing making the car larger to help separate itself from the Impreza. I like the front end but the rest of it is awful...

like the good ol' honda setup turbo sits right on the manifold. now its all about the charge pipe and how restrictive thats gonna be to the intercooler.

can someone explain those O2 sensor bungs to me. Normally we have 1 post and 1 pre cat. There are two there, but no cat inbetween from what I can tell. Is that a wideband bung perhaps?

It's too big and generic-looking. Too many cars nowadays look alike.

On the flipside, I think the turbo design is a good idea, and there are some interesting design elements with the headlights. The interior's not bad either.

i dig it. looks nice. finally a car that seems like it has a very good chance with the mainstream buyers.

they better not have put that wood trim on the LGT interior though.... lol

look at those fenders, it will definitely look nicer when it is lowered with some nice wheels

it's good that the legacy now resembles more "luxury" ... but i still don't get why they would give the legacy these fenders, and totally buttraped the non-sti's by giving it a flat rounded fender.... especially when the impreza is suppose to resemble more "aggressiveness" than the legacy. i guess the only car they want to be "aggressive" is the sti

with that being said... i can only imagine the demand for the legacy will be higher than the previous gens. it seems more "people-friendly"

lol @ everyone hating on the direction that the legacy is going. this IS what the legacy should be, IMO.

The headlamps' shape reminds me of the Infiniti G35 and Chrysler Sebring. I prefer Subaru designer just simply copy the Infiniti design outright, it looks way better than the Sebring esque design.

Also, what about HID as part of a package option? push start button?(for the "flagship model), what about the clean turbo DIESEL boxer engine with CVT for the environmentally conscious???, Com'on Subaru, you want to compete with the best like BMW, Infiniti, etc but coming up short again...or is that in the works???

Overall, I like the exterior design, the fender flares is always nice and gives it a muscular and aggressive stance. Cabin space is finally improved and I love the center dash console!

im very intrigued by the new turbo placement...but I'm worried at how close to the ground and susceptible to damage it may be... looks like a rock or something could just bounce up there and take out the rubber lines or hit the wastegate arm...also, no heatshield on the headers? weird...

The local dealer just got the first one in today. I hate to say it but it is WAY uglier in person. I am so disappointed in the looks. The front overhang is massive, making the car so unbalanced that I cant believe that it escaped the styling dept. I kid you not, the 16" wheels look like 14x6's. I am stunned. FWIW, the interior looks very nice/upscale.

My questions about the car:

1. Has anybody seen any info about the tranny other than the idea that it is a new 6 speed based around the 5 speed case design?

2. are there any rumors to the gear quality in this new tranny on the GT models?

3. I wish we could see a pic of the crossmember and oil pan to know how those new headers and turbo clear.....

I am excited by some of these changes, and it should eliminate any ignorant auto-writer from ever again saying the words "turbo-lag" when speaking about Subarus....

as for the styling, I personally like it, but, it is obviously not as a aggressive as some earlier Legacy models....

I agree that some nice volks and a good set of lowering springs will work wonders....

As for the turbo, I would really like to see how quick this thing could spool a GT30 or Gt35R....

This. I love that body style so much. Sure it's underpowered these days and noisy as hell over 45, (can't even use the Bluetooth call function of my stereo) but the car just looks and feels so great. One of my friends is buying one too, just because of my car.

I just wish automakers in general would drop the gigantic wraparound headlights. They're almost to the A pillars on some cars now! Give me a square hood that ends abruptly and drops almost vertically into circular or rectangular headlights.

Only a 2.5GT 6MT wagon would do it for me...unless it was a spec.B 6MT wagon. Guess I'll sit and wait and wait and wait .
