From the context of the article on jalopnik the new STi will be offered in both flavors.

Im glad they brought back the sedan sti! Looks like SOA is listening to what the customers want and are delivering! I think it looks way better than the hatch. They just need to put it up to 400hp and we'd be rockin

Not meaning to be a dick but.. Just because your a little older or were into subarus before some people doesn't mean they don't love the cars just as much as you.

Answers. We are keeping the wagon!
In the past couple of years, if you were looking for a turbocharged, AWD rally-bred sedan with an oversized rear wing, you were really limited to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. But now Subaru is reviving a large rear spoiler of its own on the new 2011 Impreza WRX STI four-door, which debuted at the New York auto show. The sedan joins the five-door wagon in Subaru's flagship performance lineup and marks the first time the STI has been offered in two body styles. The STI sedan adopts the wide-body design found on the wagon, with heavily flared front fenders and rear quarter panels. In addition, the bumpers feature a more aggressive look with blacked-out fog lights, a new grille with black inset and the aforementioned oversized rear wing. Helping to raise the handling prowess in both wagon and sedan versions, Subaru reworked the suspension tuning, which was previewed on the 2010 Impreza WRX STI Special Edition. Ride height is lowered, spring rates increase, antiroll bars are thicker, and front pillow-ball bushings and rear subframe bushings are stiffened. The standard 18-inch wheels are also new and weigh 17.6 pounds less than the previous wheels. All of this results in reduced body roll, more neutral handling response and better lateral grip capability. Both the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan and wagon land in showrooms in late summer. - http://www.autoweek.com/article/2010...YORK/100409993 |

Anybody that thinks that is a better looking car then the 08-10 STI's has something seriously wrong with them. Well I guess I will have to keep my fingers crossed that they actually make a good looking car for 2012-13. Give me a coupe damn it!

I love that Subaru listens to their customers... So awesome. I'm sure it will make a ton of you guys happy, but I'll stick to the hatch...
Still glad to see all the little improvements to the cars overall :-) |

I don't know what to think about it, I guess it just needs to grow on me. But if the ride height came down, and was rolling on some Advans, sick.

While I am happy to see an STi sedan being offered again I just can't get past those tail lights. They look really cheap. Even the lights on the hatch didn't float my boat. I've been waiting two years for them to grow on me but it still hasn't happened.
Hopefully the Toyabaru will deliver. |

Rear shot looks like a scion tc with ricer wing.
Not a bad effort by Subaru...they've done worse. |

i think the rear looks pretty horrendous...the rear wing looks like it came off a cobalt ss.
overall, subaru did a good job but IMO they went a weeee bit too far with the aggressive styling in the rear |
