Default DrnknZag's Mad Props Thread

I figured I better start a thread of my own on here so I can be as cool as Devin! I gotta give big props to Andrew (Cyclops), Brian (Gray Ghost), and Shandra (shandra) for helping me install Brian's old VF34 on my wagon and cooking some awesome bbq today!

Here's what I saw as I popped my hood when I got home though.....oops...

Can't wait to get tuned on Monday!

Did you do injectors too? I wish I could have made it out today but I had to work, are you getting a road or dyno tune?

Tool thief! I can't think how many times I have gone for a test drive and come back with something laying under the hood. Can't wait to check it out after the tune

But you will still have tiny foglights Did everything go according to plan on the install, other than the addition of tools to your engine bay

Everything went pretty smooth except for some clearance issues with the wastegate actuator and the heat shield....

I tried loosening all the bolts and moving it around, but didn't get much play in it. I'm probably going to just cut part of the heat shield back and call it good. How far does the wastegate actuator move? Any other ideas to make it work?

Spacers?

I'm not sure, my cusco heat shield bolts up to different bolts, so I don't have wastegate issue

Where does the Cusco one bolt up to? I can't be more difficult than the damn Cobb one

I ended up pulling off the heat shield and cutting it back with the dremel a little. Turned out looking pretty good for doing it by hand so I'm happy. Putting the tmic back on was much less painful than yesterday, plus I was able to get that inlet pipe on a little better than it was yesterday. She's pretty much all set for her date with Dom tomorrow!

BTW where's the picture of Shandra with her wiener??????

Hey I stopped by, I gave a little help right? (no.)

My Cobb heatshield rubbed exactly like that on my VF39, but I just left it. Every once in a while I'd hear some rattling when the wastegate was fluttering, but since I knew what it was I didn't mind. On my 16g the wastegate arm is a little different, and clears it fine.

Your car is going to rip with that turbo!!!

I'll probably stop by since I don't live too far away!

Hey Andrew do you remember putting the downpipe gasket on when I was under the car? I thought I remembered seeing a dp gasket on the floor when I was cleaning up and hope it wasn't mine. Didn't notice any exhaust leaks driving home but I was seriously babying it....

Don't remember at all, I hope it wasn't yours. It's post turbo so it won't affect your tune if it's leaking a little but if it is we'll have to replace it this weekend maybe?

Crap, I hope someone remembered to put that on there. I never grabbed it off the TD04 when we first pulled it off. I didn't even think about it when I was underneath fitting the dp. I guess I'll find out later today.
