when looking at diagrams of the 15-16my wrx pcv vs the 17, it looks like some things may have changed (more than just the hose fittings). more experienced/knowledgeable people...did they change it or include more of the emmisions control that already existed into the diagram?

Maybe I should just go that route.

Catch can system on 2015 WRX
Just put the Mishimoto catch can system on my WRX last week.
I was surprised that the PCV can is now mounted under the fresh air intake for the filter box. I was not sure how the hoses would hold up along the space for the passenger side of the engine, as there's a number of places that could rub a hole into the hoses. I went ahead and zip tied both hoses for the PCV can to the intake tube. I noticed I am getting a smell of oil coming from under the intercooler.. it's pretty strong when sitting in traffic. I've bottomed the hose out on the PCV valve, I may have a MM or 2 till I bottom out on the barb on the back of the intake manifold. I definitely had plenty of hose on it and was able to get the clamp very tight. I will say the hose did not go on the back of the manifold near as easy as the video showed. The other fittings were easier to fully push on. That one had me worried... There's a hose clip for the original CCV hose going to the Turbo, that's too small to clip onto the new hoses... I assume the intention is to just remove the clip? Please comment about the PCV hose routing I really want to avoid getting a hole in the tubing. Also any advice with the hose one the back of the manifold and the CCV hose clip just above the turbo would be great. Thanks! |
