v7 sti tunning
im coming across a problem when trying to find a tuning solution for my jdm v7 sti ecu, im thinking possibly use a utec but leave the avcs directly pluged into the ecu? any thoughts or other options? its an 02 wrx with a v7 sti swap, blouch16g, and a built trans

No problem tuning.
Definitely Open Source. -RomRaider -ECUFlash All downloadable You'll need a laptop, a few cables to data log and flash your ECU and a Wideband O2 will be needed to truly tune it. I don't know if the UTEC would even work. |

+1 for open source. I'm running an open source tune on my 95 coupe with a full jdm Ver7 sti swap (rhd, ej207, drivetrain, etc.). I love it! |

+2 for open source. I have a v7 motor and i've had it tuned several times via open source. I'm even running the smc methanol kit atm, which was also tuned with open source. It's fairly straight forward and in my opinion one of the cheapest routes if you can get a wideband. Id recommend an AEM Wideband since it's so easy to install and romraider friendly. I used an Innovate LC1 for a while, and even though it worked great, it seemed like it required a little more work to install and also needed to be re calibrated fairly often to read an accurate number.

How's that swap treating you? when you did the swap, was it difficult to convert to RHD? Did u just drill through the firewall? I'm doing a complete ver6 swap into a 95L and am thinking about just leaving it RHD. I'd like to do a ver7 swap, but I'm buying the whole car through auction, so unless I find a gc8 with a swap in it already, that's what I'm getting! Atleast its still a ej207, wouldn't mind the avcs heads tho!

you can tune straight opensource or
use a Utec rev 6b, it has the pass through for the avcs wires and you would be able to utilze speed density and the ability of changing maps on the fly. If you plan to stick with one fuel, I'd go opensource just for simplicity. |

+1 utec can also run a solenoid such as water/meth injection. Ignition cut launch control standard... bang bang! Alot of high horsepower cars running it. Not too much info now that turbo xs stopped selling it but the price is rediculous right now if you want one. Was over 900 and can be had now for less than 200 |
