Default painting center console..

Well, I started the project yday and painted the entire center console w/ rustoleum textured black plastic paint. Seems to have come out fine. Anybody paint the air vent rings on the sides? I wanted to but i was too scared to tug harder fearing id break a clip or something. Should they just snap right out?

yes...just take a flathead...theyre stubborn but they come out. pry at the sides 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. thats where they snap in. dont pry hard to dent your dash though...

i guess you found my thread? I love that rustoleum textured paint!

To remove the trim rings, just pull on the left and right sides. I broke 1 clip on 1 ring, but it still holds itself in without a problem just fine.. so dont be too scared of it. They are somewhat of a PITA to get back in sometimes, but just push and wiggle it until it clips into place.
I had to use a screwdriver to pry it out, but put a cloth under it so it doesnt crease the dash with the leverage. That would suck because the dent will NEVER go away

I have actually pried out those rings just using my fingers (pull on the inside of the ring).
