I normally am not one to post up PM's or publicly point a finger at a member, but this is something I have to share.
As you know, I do have my car up for sale. I have gotten PM's, tons of questions, and lots of interest. This morning, I got one that took the cake. I have sold plenty cars privately in the past personally and this has to be one of the most insulting, laughable offers I have ever gotten. 2004, Jeep Rubicon, 70,000 miles, plus $1,000 dollars. I re-read the offer a few dozen times to try and understand what this kid was saying. I thought he made a typo at first, so I mainly just ignored the PM. However, I decided to write back telling him that he valued my 2013 WRX with 12k miles and 12k worth of mods at $16,000 (04 rubicon with 70k is roughly worth around 14-15k on a good day). I wished him luck on his search and I was on my way. He responds back "Don't get your panties in a bunch, dude. Only bitches would get insulted by that." Gave me a good laugh and I responded back saying "I guess you can call me a bitch then." In saying that, my car is off the market and not for sale. I will be keeping it. Happy Friday all!

Haha, well the RPF's won't be going on until Spring anyway. I do plan to do a test fit after I get the brakes on and everything. Got some nice plans coming up! I will post some pics up this weekend of the wheels and brakes.

I like to change things up every now and again and was pretty dead set on starting with another chassis and just starting over. Now that that I have more a definite plan on where I want to take the car, I have a better understanding of what I want the car to be instead of just guessing. My wife has a 2012 Jeep already, so it may have been a little redundant to get another one, even though mine would be geared more towards off roading. I do want to eventually get back into an M3, so I figured I would hang onto the WRX for a few more years and jump back into an M when the time is right. |

So how bout that new 2015 WRX, huh? It's a shame, they made some nice improvements but the car is ugly as sin.

What do I think? Well, 6spd, nicer interior, higher hp and tq, integrated boost gauge, twin scroll turbo. It's all better on paper. I am not a fan of the looks, but I wasn't a big fan of the gr's when they first came out either. Now I own one and love them. I am anticipating the STI version though, but right now it's nothing I'd want to trade my current wrx in for. It's very soft, IMHO. ill wait to see them on the road until I really get a good feel for them. So far, it seems like it's going to be a good car and I'm looking forward to see these cars modded though. We shall see.

I had an extremely eventful day today. Spent basically all morning/afternoon with the car. Met up with Jeff (ultimateone) to swap wheels. We were both looking for a new look and both wanted each others wheels. He drove all the way from Boston to do the swap! Thanks to Jeff for getting up early AM to drive to me! Chatted a bit, swapped wheels, and we were on our way. I ended up meeting another Jeff (burnurass) at his work to use a few of his tools. We used his impact gun on my coilovers and a 4 piston caliper opener. Thanks again Jeff!
I've been through ups and downs wanting to sell this thing and wasn't sure exactly what I really wanted to do. Meeting up with fellow members today just showed me what kind of community it really is. From ultimateone driving 4 hours to me to burnurass to taking time out of his work day to help a friend out. Really awesome to see the community coming together to help others out. I am VERY happy to report that the clunk I have been dealing with for months, is gone! Tightening down the top nut and tightening up the collar perches on the coils removed the clunk completely. My guess is they loosen up a bit after all the miles I've put on them and just needed to be torqued down again. Just from that alone, it made me fall in love with the car again. I got home after driving around all morning and cleaned up the RPF's to take some pictures. Seeing how great they looked, I couldn't help but want to put them on the car to get some pictures. Good god, they look spectacular on there. Extremely happy I made the switch as it gives the car an entirely different look. Very aggressive and the right amount of contrast. I plan to go a hair lower in the spring. Lastly, I picked up a set of 4 pot front calipers freshly built with all new hardware from a member here last week. I was going to do brembos, but that would call for new winter AND summer wheels since I wouldn't want to run spacers. Being that this is a street car, I just wanted a little bit added performance to firm up the brake pedal and give me more confidence on the road. The 4/2 pot combination is perfect since it allows you to get more pistons on the caliper, more pad choices, and gives you that extra grab. Not to mention the great color they have on them. It should look great behind the rpf1's. I am on the hunt for a clean set of 2 pot rears and going to do all the rotors as once at well. I also picked up a new set of stoptech street brake pads to use with the new calipers. They should give me the right about of grab, low dust, and great braking ability for the road. I am really looking forward to getting these bad boys on the car! Added some interior shots as well since I never really got some daytime pics of the wheel and headunit. Without further adewwwww.... Awesome, looks so f'in good dude! You look to be at the exact same height I was, and that means it's time to lower it some more haha. And I agree with you about the community, this is my second Subie and I have to say I enjoy the camaraderie a lot more here than with the Evo scene. 2014, is gonna be a fun year

Sure is! As I said, it's such a classic look on these cars. I am happy to see some contrast on the car and see how well it works with everything. |

Agree with other comments, the gold look great on your car.
Quick question, your RPF's are 18x9.5 so you would run a 255/265 tire, correct? If so, do you notice a ton of difference in steering feel between those and the stockers? I would assume there is def a difference in feel but to what extent? |

Thanks bud! It's a classic look and really hard to beat. I agree, I think the red will look great on the car and the brakes will tie in everything perfectly. Should come out looking pretty nice! At least I am hoping so haha. |
