Default intake

Most cars that I get I put a conical K&N filter directly on the inlet tube (home made short ram). This one has the mass airflow sensor as part of the air box so I assume I have to buy a short ram that allows the mass airflow to bolt up. I am assuming that ones built for the 2003 wrx or imprezza will fit? How much is the Blitz SUS? and Does anyone just sell the pipe with the MAF mounting (so I can but on my beloved K&N)?

Thanks

Burke

Sounds like the TurboXS short ram is for you. It uses a K&N cone filter. It's about $160. http://www.turboxs.com/turboxsfmi.htm

The SUS is a lot more expensive. There is at least one STi that is seeing nice gains from it. I expect the gains are due to the SUS making the car run lean. He was have det issues before and after the SUS install.

Will the 2002+ systems fit the 2004 STI?

There are several others who had issues with short rams{I am one}. Bogging off the line and poor acceleration up top.

I might go back to one with fuel management and/or ECU tweaking.
