Best BBQ vDallas
Looking for awesome bbq. Dallas area
I think for consistency Dickeys is hard to beat. Probably one in every city around DFW Second is Mike Anderson's. On Harry Hines. South of Inwood across from hospital district. Consistent, Mike is chopping meat himself and starting out your order Plus, has to have good fried okra. Both of the above do. Served cafeteria style. Scoop it yourself sides. Debate ensues

Everyone seems to love Pecan Lodge. Although it's not the prettiest place, I really like Meshack in garland.

Yeah, Dickeys is overpriced big time. I'm an older fart so I'd prefer Spring Creek to Dickeys. I can live without the okra.
Mike Anderson's is awesome. The banana pudding is a must if you got room after the meal. Hard 8 in Coppell is pretty good. Great atmosphere but a bit pricey. North Main BBQ in Euless is good. Not as good as it was in the past but still good. No okra though. Soulman on 183 and Regal Row is a decent lunch spot. Of all things, their cabbage is good. Okra is good there too. If I had to choose all of those places I'd choose Anderson's. The only negative is that the lines are out the door at lunch hour. I'm curious if any FBR members will chime in. |

I'm a huge fan of Tommy's BBQ on Irving Blvd near 183. It's delicious and they have the biggest baked potatoes you've ever seen! Whenever I'm in the area I have to stop in there for lunch.

Coopers in the stockyards. The original in llano is amazing. Haven't tried the new one yet. Another good one is woodshed. Not your traditional BBQ but the ribs are fantastic.

Dickeys is worst BBQ you can get in Texas. Can't believe it's even brought up.
Sonny Brian's used to be my favorite but now they're not doing as well. The original on I wood is still good though. And it's right down the street from mike andersons |

Big Green Egg /thread......
You said Dallas but I see a lot of Fort Worth. If I go out for BBQ I like Hard 8, Angelos, Cassstevens (gas station in Lillian) and Hammonds in Glen Rose. Other than that if it is planned I would rather cook it myself. |

I was just at Coopers on Saturday night. Damn it was good. I've been there in the past but it had been a while.

I can second that Cass Stevens is awesome! My brother used to live near there. That is the only reason I knew they existed.

Both my cousins and aunt use to work there. They lived within walking distance. It is not much for looks but they have good food if you are out on a "spirited drive" or riding a bike it's a nice little stop.

Definitely check out Rudy's BBQ. It's in Frisco, off the tollway north of main st. They originated in Austin and are quite delicious. You should try their creamed corn. The only downside to this place is your order sides by the pint so I would go with a friend or two.

There's a Rudy's in Arlington in the Highlands area. Also I believe there's one in Denton as well.

There is a new place in Lewisville right on Valley Ridge just west of I-35. Phat Cow BBQ. Its moderate. The best thing on his menu are the ribs and the phatjaps.
Ribs - Go on tuesday or friday evening after 5pm. The guy doesnt like things sitting around so he makes JUST enough. He pulls them on tues and fri after 5pm. So, they are FRESH and right of the cooker. After that (if he has any) they arent quite as good. The phatjaps are basically jalapeno peppers filled with cheese and brisket wrapped in bacon. His green beans arent that good however. Almost every GOOD BBQ stand makes good brisket and ribs. The hardest thing is to find a good place where the sauce is good. Old Town BBQ on 407 and I-35 has great brisket and sausage. Though the sauce is a little to vinegary for my taste. And to the above.. Dickey's blows goats. Absolutely awful. I hate any place that will weigh the food before they give it to you. |

Best Bbq
THE BEST BBQ is at MY HOUSE. Period. the second runner up is probably Hutchins BBQ in McKinney, Longoria's in Fort Worth is third.
The reason MY BBQ is best is because I have a private stash of this Badd to the bone Hickory cooking wood. I have been getting it out of the fertile red river valley of OK. makes THE best pork, brisket, chicken, salmon, you name it, comes out great. I will give some samples to my bro's on Nasioc, but you have to let me know and I can make up a bundle for ya. BBQ season is coming up! |

I must had watched 6 episodes on Pitmasters this weekend. Going to do some ribs this week, with apple wood, some honey and apple juice. Then layer on the Ca Johns BBQ sauce we got for the ribs. |
