86 gl 1.8 nonturbo to turbo and cold air intake
i have an 86 gl 1.8 2wd wit non turbo carbed, custom exhaust from cat back
5spd........the engine is in good condition jus need to **** a new coil n cap soon i want to put a turbo and mabye intercooler in it i also want to put in a cold air intake with a k&n filter,,,i was goin to put a custom piece from the carb with a universal line to a filter but dont know what to do with all the hoses to the air box i dont know which ones to block off and which ones to install to the new air line, i always do custom mod work i jus want to get sum help comsidering ive never done a turbo beefore any pointers to installing a turbo and cold air intake would be appreciated please tell me what you did if you have done it also also anything i might be able to do to get more power other than intake, exhaust and turbo?

find a different engine. seriously. youre in for one hell of a job if you want to turbo a carbed engine. youll need a mpfi intake manifold, the exhaust manifold and the turbo, the injectors, fuel pump, and an ecu. plus now youre cramming an intercooler somewhere in between the turbo and the throttle body.

so i would have to change it to FI before i could even think about turbo charging it? if so lol (should go to a new thread but not now) how would i go about it? currently i am mostly interested in the intake but for future ref i wanna know bout the turbo

A metric **** ton of money if you don't do it all yourself, and the end result will be disappointing at best. Get a JDM WRX front cut and do it right if you are going to do it at all. |
