Default Air pump removal + fail? 07 WRX.

Ok so today another member of misubie.com tuned my car for me (Thanks 06limited) and we decided to unhook all the parts for the air pump and turn off all the CELs as part of the tune. This was in prep for me removing the air pump system later on.

But we ran in to a problem.
After we unhooked every thing the MAP sensor read wrong?
It was then reading about 8psi below what the car was making. It also read more vac then normal by the same amount.
We hooked every thing back up and every thing went back to normal.

Has any one ells had this happen to them?
Do you have a fix?

Later.

you have to leave the big air pump valve under the IC pluged in. It has the atmosspheric pressure sensor in it

Is there a way around that?
I want to remove all the parts of the system not just some of them.

In the 06 this was not a problem.

Where is the atmospheric pressure sensor in the 06?

no you have to leave the atmospheric pressure sensor in. you also need to buy block off plates. passenger side is pain in the ass i ended up just cutting the pipe off with dremmel.

Im going to have a large part of the motor pulled apart soon for other mods.
Figured it was a good time to remove the air pump system.

I am going to order the block off plates as well as a few other things I will need soon.

Thanks for the info man!

Its the one thats not under the intake manifold.
You can tell by looking at the harness. The one you want is the one with more than 2 wires.

goodluck.

Ok from what I have found the sensor in the 06 WRX is in the ECU. In the 07 WRX it is in the valve with the larger harness hooked to it.

Now I just need to find a way to remove it from the valve.
Option 2 is to use an 06 ECU, but I'm not sure that will work yet.

Later.

Do you have to buy block off plates to remove the air pump?

No. But you do need to cap the hose from the pump.
You do need them if you wish to remove the hole system valves and all.

I did end up removing everything from the car. And I used the Kstech plate on the passengers side, and I taped the hole for the tube in the head and installed a bolt in it on the drivers side as both of the bolts that hold the tube to the head snapped off in the head when I tried to remove them. There WEAK bolts as it took nothing to brake them.

I cut the ATM sensor of the top of the valve and then sealed the bottom where the wires for the valve come out and mounted it to the bracket that holds the fuel lines on the left strut tower.

Been like that now for a long time with no problems.
