I would recommend using a spray gun. Do not use spray cans to paint the whole truck. It will take longer, cost more and wont look as nice. Go to very first post of this thread and check out the links. If anyone you know has any question about PD, refer them to the first post. Most of question can be answered checking those links out.

I PD my friends carbon fiber hood which had some bad chips and the clear coat was toast. With enough layer, the PD will fill in the chips. They became less noticeable. Have any pics so we can see how bad the hood is?

Good question! Where I use to work, the birds loved crapping on my car. The only body part i have PD is the hood scoop, to reduce the glare while driving. But it has been pooped on by birds and it washes off and doesn't leave any marks. Water and a rag or going to the car wash should be fine.

With enough layers of PD, the PD will fill in scratches on the paint/clear coat. Like I mentioned a bit ago, I PD my friends CF hood and it helped to fill in the chis in the clear coat. From a distance, they were barely noticeable.

Thinking of dipping my front, rear and side WRX badges in gunmetal to match my oem wheels. Then I'd have an SWP and gunmetal theme across the whole car. No more chrome or silver. Thoughts?

gunmetal plastidip is really just flat gray. I was thoroughly disappointed in the end result. If you want it to look like your wheels, I would recommend the pearlizer judging by dipyourcarcom's youtube videos. Pearlizer over black gets a dark silvery finish.

Did you have to take the badges all the way off of the car or just do them while still on?

I left them on. Just taped around it, leaving a gap between the tape and the badge for easy peeling. When you start peeling the gap you leave makes the plasti dip leave a nice edge. It was super easy, just takes time. I did 4 coats before calling it good enough.

DipYourCar is releasing Aluminum and Anthracite soon. One of those colors would work a lot better than their Gunmetal. The Anthracite looks like what everyone hoped the Gunmetal would have looked like.

Thanks for the info, if the black with pearlizer isn't good, I will go that route

Anyone have pics of flat red or flat yellow on a large surface? Was thinking maybe a dark grey on the body as well but someone said something about a bluish hue earlier in the thread...hmmm

^^ think the wheels would look good if you left the gloss black part visible and the silver parts matte black

I dont like how the hood looks, however i like that you tried it. Since its easily removed theres nothing to lose by trying stuff. I like the gas tank cover too.
