Motion Lab Tuning = AWESOME!
I can personally attest to Motion Lab Tuning's excellent customer service, quality work, and great tunes. If you need ANYTHING done with your Subie, I would not hesitate to give them a call. They're just a bunch of great guys who are always willing to answer any questions and help steer you in the right direction if you're wondering how to build your car!
Motion Lab Tuning FTW!

Just about everyone in North Florida goes to Top Speed for their tunes. Doug the tuner won One Lap America last year and is the best tuner in the south so they say. I've been there and have seen people from all over the south having work done. There's another shop http://killshotperformance.com/ also "crashtke" is his form name these guys have been great with helping me figure out my over boost problem. They have one of the best mechanics around Atlanta who works on Subies plus other cars. Mike the head tuner does road tunes mostly but can tune using a dyno from Top Speed when needed. I had TS put a new motor in my car and Doug has tuned mine 4 or 5 times in the past. One thing about Doug is he's always busy and has a waiting line most of the time when you go there. Kill Shot Performance I didn't know about when I needed work done. I had a problem with over boosting when Top Speed put the motor in my car and I needed help to figure out why. Mike at Kill Shot helped me at no cost figured out the problem. He would call at night to check to see if what he said to do worked or not when others wouldn't return my call during business hours. Also he helped me set up my lap top so I could pull data logs. In no time Mike had me downloading and uploading maps plus running logs so I could see if my car was happy or not. So if you are like some of us you'll drive a few hours to a good mechanic or tuner for your work. The one thing I like about Mike at Kill Shot is he'll help you on the phone so you can do most of the work yourself then you can drive it to them so he can finished the tune. I'm sure they are others but one thing you better do is your home work or you will be spending 5k like I had to on a new motor after letting someone other then a known tuner tune my car. I even went to a south Florida shop on the east cost around west Palm beach and they didn't do a good tune either. I finally drove to Tampa where Doug was tuning and when he seen the tune he was shocked to know these guys tune cars. The only thing I can tell you is before Doug two guys tune my car. The first guy I went cheap after a turbo swap. The car would back fire and wouldn't run right. Then while I was in south Florida working I took it to a place down there that guys said to take it to. This shop looked like they did a lot of "Z" cars but worked on subies as well and said the same thing about the tuner before them but when they finished it did run better but not great. After Doug it ran great but the damage was done three cracked pistons. Now that Mike at Kill Shot has shown me how to run data logs I can keep a good eye on what's going on so I can keep this from happing again

Looks like you missed Slowboy Racing in the Sanford area. They have an in house tuner and Dyno (Mustang I believe.) I got a bunch of stuff installed from them and tuned.

I see you don't have a tuning shop for Tennessee. Fastech motorsports is a great shop, they are a licensed aem tuner. They also have a all wheel dyno dynamics dyno. It's a great shop I would recommend it to any one.

looking for Tuner feedback in Mooresville NC area
I have a 2010 WRX that I am looking to improve on once I hit that 36K mark(I'm at 21K now).
Had a 2001 BMW M-Coupe that was a beast. The backseats in the WRX are a godsend but miss that loow end grunt. Handling is also different as the stock suspension likes to plow through tight turns more than I'd like. My goal is to improve handling even if it results in a harsher ride. I'd like more low end grunt and quicker response as opposed to a peaky high end grenade tune. I dont want to sacrifice the everyday driveability at the expense of all out performance. So looking for thos ethat have used DRACO Performance here in mooresville as well as others in near by area for their feedback. |
