you should not cut out the wall in the tgv's it is there for a reason. the wall creates force to push the fuel from the injectors down. without that wall it will drip eventually and not get burnt off when it is suppose to. just clean it up.

Must be why the JDM long runner manifolds don't have them as well

What would you do if you simply removed the motors, gears, rods, etc. and left the plugs on each bank empty.
Would I need a resistor to be plugged in there? Or just work around not having them plugged in with tuning?

You would have to delete the codes(ie - accessport)

I asked about this awhile ago but didn't get much response, so maybe this thread is a better place to ask:

What years/models/engines do TGVs interchange on?

I have an '06 WRX and would like to get a set to modify without tearing into my engine. Once finished I can install them, the new intercooler, and TBE and get a tune all at the same time.

Might make it easier to find them if there are other years/engines that are interchangeable.

It won't affect starting much, but you may get some oscillation in idle RPM during warmup. The warmup tables can be adjusted to get most of that out, but it's not necessary at all.

It will affect an E85 tune more than a pump gas tune. It will be barely noticeable on pump gas.

In order to "plug" the holes why can people just bolt the motor and sensor back on and leave them unplugged instead on going through the trouble of finding plugs and JB Welding them?

often there are clearance issues around the compressor inlet with larger snails.

additionally the motor and sensor may not be airtight without the shaft and sealed bearing in place.

The motor and sensor are there before someone even attempts the mod. All modifications are internal so what would cause any clearance issues?

i believe you misunderstood me.

NOT removing the TGV sensor/motor can prevent proper installation of certain combinations of parts, especially large inlet diameter stock location turbos.

I just did this. You are correct. Carbide makes life easier. It took me about two hours to get mine (driver side only) ported and polished. I had a Dremel tool. I did take it to a mirror finish though.
