Default want to replace failing AVO 320 turbo

My AVO 320 turbo has a bad seal and is blowing oil into the intercooler. The center section is a Garrett ball bearing, but 1. I can't find anyone willing to repair the seals in the center section (no one wants to touch a ball-bearing turbo), and 2. the place that I bought the turbo from is no help at all--will not even tell me the part number for the center section (they probably don't know, and won't admit it).

At any rate, I have had it with AVO and with Garrett. The car is tuned and modified to accomodate this particular turbo (Vishnu Stage 2.5). Can anyone please suggest an alternate turbo that will produce comparable performance, and that won't cost so damn much.

The car is an 02 WRX wagon (2.0). Will a stock STi turbo put me in the ball park?

(Yes, the turbo is definitely blowing oil. No other hoses, other than the hose to the intercooler, contain oil. I pulled the turbo today, and oil is for sure coming out of the turbo.)

do you have a catch can? All subarus blow oil into the intercooler, have you noticed a decrease in performance?

There is no oil in any of the lines that go to the fresh air intake. Some Subarus experience blowback, especially through the line that comes off the Y fitting on the PCV system and connects to the fresh air intake. In these cases the oil enters the turbo through the fresh air intake and is then blown into the intercooler. On my car, the line coming from the PCV system is dry (as are all other lines). There is obviously a seal in the turbo that is failing or that has never seated properly. The turbo releases oil especially when it is in negative boost (and there is no pressure to help hold the oil in).

This is my second WRX. The first was also modified. It did not use any oil between changes, and when I replaced the PCV the intercooler and all related hoses were dry. A quick fix for the line that connects the PCV system to the fresh air intake is to put a PCV in the line, so that air can enter from the fresh air intake, but oil cannot blow back into the intake. According to Subaru schematics, air should pass only down into the PCV system; nothing should come back toward the intake.
